Litecoin is a peer-to-peer Internet currency that enables instant, near-zero cost payments to anyone in the world. Litecoin is an open source, global payment network that is fully decentralized without any central authorities. Mathematics secures the network and empowers individuals to control their own finances. Litecoin features faster transaction confirmation times and improved storage efficiency than the leading math-based currency. With substantial industry support, trade volume and liquidity, Litecoin is a proven medium of commerce complementary to Bitcoin. IRC FreeNode network channels #litecoin (for general users) and #litecoin-dev (for developers). Find general information as well as a list of services and exchanges that support Litecoin at the Litecoin Wiki . Up-to-date network statistics can be found at Litecoin Block Explorer Charts . Source code for Litecoin Core and related projects are available on GitHub . Litecoin is an open source software project released under the MIT/X11 license which gives you the power to run, modify, and copy the software and to distribute, at your option, modified copies of the software. The software is released in a transparent process that allows for independent verification of binaries and their corresponding source code. The Litecoin blockchain is capable of handling higher transaction volume than its counterpart - Bitcoin. Due to more frequent block generation, the network supports more transactions without a need to modify the software in the future. As a result, merchants get faster confirmation times, while still having ability to wait for more confirmations when selling bigger ticket items. Wallet encryption allows you to secure your wallet, so that you can view transactions and your account balance, but are required t Continue reading >>

What is Litecoin ? If you are into Crypto Currencies, you should be familiar with the name Litecoin as this coin has been existing since 2011 and one of the very first true altcoins that has stayed. There are a lot of altcoins that tried to compete with big names but didnt have enough gas to last that long. Litecoin, on the other hand, has been there for a very long time and is just showing how resilient it can become when it comes to market volatility. And with the recent announcement of Charlie Lee leaving Coinbase to focus on his creation, is good news to the Litecoin community! Litecoin just recently past the $50.00 mark after many years existing in the market. This simply cements the idea that the coin is legit. And when it comes to crypto currency mining, you, of course, need to make sure that the coin that you are mining is worth something to avoid converting it to Bitcoin or holding on to something that may be worth nothing after a few months. Before deciding on to mine Litecoin, you can actually calculate how much you would make through this Litecoin calculator . There are a few things why a mining rush starts. First, mining rush comes when people see an opportunity to mine something that is already valuable or they see something that can be profitable after a few years. Due to the recent revival of Litecoin value , this would attract people to start mining Litecoin now. This would be the perfect time to do so as the creator of the coin now plans to divert his full attention to the project that has been going on for five years now. We are all quite aware that when a coin goes up suddenly, there is an expected dip a few days after that sudden increase. Compared to Litecoins cousins, the crypto currency market has always been crazy on the charts throughout the y Continue reading >>

Here's an overview of what will happen, step by step. ? Are you using a secure operating system installation guaranteed to be free of spyware and viruses, for example, an Ubuntu LiveCD? Change your wallet's design, language, or cryptocurrency here: Before printing out a wallet you may need to calibrate your output using the zoom and horizontalshift adjustments to account for your particular browser and printer combination. Otherwise, your wallet's back side may not line up with the front side. Next you will print out the front side of your wallet. The public address and private key will be random-generated, or you can supply your own key by rolling dice, shuffling cards, etc. You may also duplicate an existing paper wallet or provide a "vanity" address if you have one. Tip: If you are printing several wallets, it's possible to print two per page . Flip the front page over and put it back in your printer. This isn't just for good looks! The reverse design includes important tamper-resistant safeguards. Find your scissors! The final step is to cut out your wallet, fold it, and seal it with tamper-evident hologram stickers or at least opaque (light-blocking) tape. Now you're ready to transfer funds from your online holdings to your new wallet. If you are making a paper wallet for a vanity address , or duplicating an existing paper wallet: In this case, simply enter your private key in Wallet Import Format (or scan it using the "validate" feature on this web page.) WIF keys always begin with the number 5 and look something like this: '5JnwJNC7q3...' The public address, e.g. '1vanityABC456...' is automatically calculated using the private key, so you only need to provide the private key. Its hard to review anything when not possible to use it yet due to purchasing with a credit card, but once I am able to use it I will update my review Been sold out of contracts for a while now and Im exited to have finally copped one before theyre gone. So happy for the wonderful opportunity to buy another Ether Contract. I love it - Thank You While we think that Ethereum may turn to POS in the coming future, we have a fantastic future to mine it at a profit with Genesis Mining. If it DOES go to POS instead of mining, then we can move to a variety of alt coins that are nearly as profitable and every bit as much fun. Give Genesis Mining a go and see why it is better than buying coins directly. I think that my purchase was a good thing. And this thing will bring me a lot of benefit. I expect to have a good return for this investiment. Finally the mining contracts are back. It's harder and harder to find mining contract and the Genesis Mining ones are the last decent ones around. Most of them will never payback. I'm using Genesis for 1 year right now and satisfied. Zcash cash priceis riseing, so this pachage is quite profitable, better than buing your own mining sistem at home. Even if PoS starts, there are alternatives.Because I heard that the reputation is good, I have decided mining for the first time as GenesisMining.I am looking forward to April when mining starts. I have bought the etherium and bit coin for the last two years.I am very excited and am very pleased to see the benefits.I have been informing others a lot and invested a lot of people. If I have a chance, I would like to invest and recommend more. I have ETH contract with Genesis for 2 years and one with same Hash rate with a competitor but 1 year contract. Genesis has consistently paid out more than the Continue reading >>

Litecoin (LTC) is a cryptographic currency thats based on the Bitcoin protocol. With the primary goal to provide users with instant and hassle-free payments to anyone in the world, Litecoin is a popular digital currency that is widely used side by side Bitcoin. But it should be noted that Litecoin (LTC) has striking features that make it a stand out in the world of cryptocurrencies. For instance, it features a blockchain with an ability to handle more transaction volume without ever needing to improve or modify the software in the years to come. Available for Windows, Linux, and Mac, you can easily have your Litecoin Wallet work on these systems without any trouble. And with a stringent wallet encryption, you can bet that your Litecoin Wallet will be protected from viruses and Trojans designed to steal LTC. A total of 84 million coins will be issued over the years, and this will be achieved by generating blocks every 2.5 minutes. Currently at 479,192 blocks, theres a Litecoin Difficulty of 2,926.5907, which is a significant increase from previous records. Moreover, expect the Litecoin Difficulty to adjust in every 2,016 blocks. Regardless of this, Litecoin (LTC) miners wont be subject to extreme fluctuations in mining and earning coins. As such, you can bet that youre going to collect block rewards regularly, which is priced at 50 coins per block. But expect this to be halved every four years. Whats even better is that Litecoin mining doesnt require you to have the most powerful hardware. It uses scrypt-based mining proof-of-work algorithm so that miners can mine solo or join a Litecoin Mining pool even with regular computers and GPUs. After all, to offer efficient, convenient, and trouble-free mining is what Litecoin (LTC) aims to achieve. If you want to see your esti Continue reading >>

Thanks to merged mining, you have to pay no fee;in fact, your earnings may even be higher than with a 0-fee PPS system. This is not a PPLNS, SMPPS or RBPPS pool:we always pay for your work, even if the pool has not yet solved enough blocks to cover the earnings generated. On other systems, miners are only rewarded when and if a block matures, but sometimes blocks get orphaned from the Litecoin network, and therefore yield no reward.A PPS pool, on the other hand, takes on the risk of bad luck so you don't have to deal with varianceand orphaned blocks. LitecoinPool.org was started shortly after the birth of Litecoin by Pooler, who is well known in the community as a member of the Litecoin core development teamand for being the maintainer of the cpuminer software package.Since the very start, the pool used ad-hoc software:Pooler wrote the front end entirely from scratch, with security and efficiency in mi Continue reading >>

A Litecoin wallet is as simple as a single pairing of a Litecoin address with its corresponding Litecoin private key. Such a wallet has been generated for you in your web browser and is displayed above. To safeguard this wallet you must print or otherwise record the Litecoin address and private key. It is important to make a backup copy of the private key and store it in a safe location. This site does not have knowledge of your private key. If you are familiar with PGP you can download this all-in-one HTML page and check that you have an authentic version from the author of this site by matching the SHA256 hash of this HTML with the SHA256 hash available in the signed version history document linked on the footer of this site. If you leave/refresh the site or press the "Generate New Address" button then a new private key will be generated and the previously displayed private key will not be retrievable. Your Litecoin private key should be kept a secret. Whomever you share the private key with has access to spend all the litecoins associated with that address. If you print your wallet then store it in a zip lock bag to keep it safe from water. Treat a paper wallet like cash. Add funds to this wallet by instructing others to send litecoins to your Litecoin address. Check your balance by going to blockchain.info or blockexplorer.com and entering your Litecoin address. Spend your litecoins by going to blockchain.info and sweep the full balance of your private key into your account at their website. You can also spend your funds by downloading one of the popular Litecoin p2p clients and importing your private key to the p2p client wallet. Keep in mind when you import your single key to a Litecoin p2p client and spend funds your key will be bundled with other private keys i Continue reading >>

[ltc] Online Litecoin Miner

[ltc] Online Litecoin Miner

I have finally succeeded in putting together a (hopefully) working online miner for Litecoin. , and of course this kind of miner will always be slower than the classic minerd. You can use the username and password of one of your pool workers, or you can leave the "Worker" field blank if you just want to test it out (shares found this way are credited to a special pool account, and you will not be able to redeem them). Please check it out, and let me know of any unexpected behavior! It would also be useful to have some feedback on hashrates for different machines. For instance, on the box I'm using for testing (a Core 2 Duo) this first version is about 3 times slower than ArtForz's cpuminer. I think that's quite a good Java-to-C ratio (I haven't finished optimizing the code yet), but of course your mileage may vary. UPDATE: On 64-bit systems, the current version can get up to 67% the speed of the reference miner by ArtForz (you must be running a 64-bit Java Virtual Machine and a 64-bit browser). 32-bit systems don't perform as well, but still manage to get about 50% of the speed. The source code is available under the GNU GPL license. BTC: 15MRTcUweNVJbhTyH5rq9aeSdyigFrskqE LTC: LTCPooLqTK1SANSNeTR63GbGwabTKEkuS7 Java doesn't need opensource to check the code - you just decompile it back to java Luckily I have no use for it other than to look at it ... And that is NOT stealing (as I said above to 'check the code') However, taking money from people and supplying them with faulty goods IS stealing. The only real application for them is to steal CPU cycles from people browsing your web sites. This is far from stealing, the user has to give explicit permission for the Java applet to run. Besides, it's a way of contributing to authors you love without having to watch disturb Continue reading >>

Walletgenerator.net - Universal Paper Wallet Generator For Bitcoin And Other Cryptocurrencies

Walletgenerator.net - Universal Paper Wallet Generator For Bitcoin And Other Cryptocurrencies

We try to make it that way ! The core of the tool, that generate the keys is 99% the same as the well reviewed bitaddress.org. We only changed it to be able to generate addresses for different crypto-currencies. We think that having a unique generator for multiple currencies lead to a much better reviewed tool for all than having a myriad of half-backed generators.Changes made to this generator are available on Github in small and divided commits and those are easy to review and reuse.Walletgenerator.net use the same security measures as the original project. All-in-one html document, no ajax, no analytics, no external calls, no CDN that can inject anything they want. And trust us, we have seen some nasty things when reviewing some wallet generator. Advantages of a paper wallet are multiple: They are not subject to malwares and keyloggers You dont rely on a third partys honesty or capacity to protect your coins You won't lose your coins when your device break Once you have generated and printed a wallet, you can send coins to the public address, like for any wallet. Store your paper wallet securely. It contains everything that is needed to spend your funds. Consider using BIP38 to secure your paper wallet with a password. How to spend the coins stored in a paper wallet ? You will need to import your private key in a real client, that you can download from the currency website. The exact method to do that will depend on the client. If there is no integrated method, you can usually fall back to the debug console and use the command importprivkey [yourprivatekey]. How walletgenerator.net is different than another wallet generator ? Its not that different. You will find another design for the paper wallet and some improvements here and there. The big difference is that thi Continue reading >>
