The Complete Guide To Selecting Your Litecoin Wallet

The Complete Guide To Selecting Your Litecoin Wallet

Last updated on September 10th, 2017 at 10:36 pm Your Litecoin wallet will be perhaps the most important tool you have for securing and protecting your Litecoins and other digital currencies, so make sure you take some time to familiarize yourself with them! Like Bitcoins, Litecoins can be stored in a digital wallet. This wallet will track the total value of your Litecoins and allow you to conduct various transactions. It might be easier to think of your ewallet as a sort of email system, except instead of sending and receiving messages, you can send and receive Litecoins and money. You can also track your history of exchanges and monitor your financial transactions. Webwallets You store your Litecoins on someone elses sever. Desktop / mobile wallets You store your Litecoins on your device (e.g. your laptop). Each type of wallet has its pros and cons. Webwallets are risker since someone can hack the companies servers and steal your coins, but on the other hand you can use them from anywhere in the world. Offline wallets are considered safer since someone will need physical access to your computer to steal them, but you will also be able to send Litecoins only from that specific device. Some wallets are completely free, while other wallets charge fees for various transactions. Make sure you read any fine print when choosing a wallet and pay close attention to any fees, as they can add up very quickly. There are several Litecoin wallets currently available, so we will go over some of the most popular options. Unlike Bitcoin there arent many options for Litecoin wallets, so I tried choosing the top 3 for you to cosider. Hardware wallets These wallets are a small piece of hardware that connects to your computer via a USB portal. They allow you to send and receive Bitcoins Continue reading >>

Compared to the hot wallets (mobile, desktop or website) these wallets are not connected to the internet. The Ledger Nano S represents a Bitcoin , Ethereum , and altcoin hardware wallet consisting of robust security features, which can be used for both storing digital assets and making payments. Some of the distinguishing features associated with this hardware wallet include ease of use, the ability to quickly make payments, high level of security, and more. The Ledger team managed to quickly become one of the biggest hardware wallet providers on the market. While other hardware wallets such as TREZOR have been on the market longer, the Ledger is seen as being neck-and-neck with it. In this Ledger Nano S review, well go over a few different aspects such as usability, security, and convenience. It seems like most of the users submitting reviews are beyond satisfied with the Ledger Nano S. Numerous users have called it a great method of sleeping well at night, especially since hardware wallets are generally used by those who have a higher number of coins. The public also believes that the device works smoothly, and most have no major complaints with it. However, the wallet may not be the best choice for those who hold multiple digital currencies and actively use most of them. This is due to the low storage space available on the device. When storing and using a digital currency on the wallet, users have to download a specific app for that token. Currently, the hardware only has enough storage space for two or three of these apps. 2018 Ledger Nano S Review - Read Before Buying...not What I Expected

Last updated on November 24th, 2017 at 08:14 am Recently I attended the North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami. Ledger, one of the leading hardware wallets manufacturers were selling their merchandise at the event and I decided to finally do my Ledger Nano S review which I have postponed for too long. So I bought myself a specially engraved Ledger Nano S created just for the conference and today Im testing it out for the first time. If youve been an avid reader of 99Bitcoins you probably know Im a long time fan of TREZOR , Ledgers main competitor. But Ive been hearing so many good things about the Ledger Nano that I decided to do a TREZOR vs Ledger type of comparison. Before I begin my review a quick word about Bitcoin hardware wallets. Hardware wallets are probably the most robust form of security you can have for your Bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency. They allow you to send and receive Bitcoins on any computer, even one that is compromised with malware, with the knowledge that your transaction will still go through as intended. For more information about Bitcoin wallets in general watch out latest Bitcoin Whiteboard Tuesday episode . The way the hardware wallets achieve maximum security is by storing your private key and signing your Bitcoin transactions offline so someone trying to hack your wallet remotely wont be able to do so. Most hardware wallets also use a second screen/device to verify actions on your wallet such as signing transaction. This way, if a hacker gainscontrol over your computer, he still cant do any harm since he requires access to the physical device connected to your computer as well. Ive reviewed the former Ledger model , the Ledger Nano in the past. Back then I concluded that the added protection that a TREZOR wallet gives you with its Continue reading >>

Ledger Nano S Litecoin Und Segwit?

Ledger Nano S Litecoin Und Segwit?

Nano S And Litecoin Problem..help!

I have the litecoin icon showing on my NanoS. However I cant find a litecoin wallet when I pull up my chrome extension. Can anyone assist here. Im at a loss. Thanks in advance. So I went to the ledger manager. I uninstalled it then reinstalled. That is all I have done at this point. Where do I go to activate it? Any news on your problem did you fix it? I started now with my Nano Ledger and wanted to transfer my Litecoin as a test (first time) But Bittrex shows my withdraw as invalid??? I followed all the steps to add my Litecoin Wallet to my Nano Ledger device. Now I can connect to my wallet through the Chrome extension and see my Litecoin wallet. When I click on the receive button he shows the address of my Litecoin wallet. Using this address doesnt work, Bittrex gives an invalid message Invalid - An invalid error next to your withdrawal in the Pending Withdrawals section of the Wallets page means an invalid address was entered. Bittrex can only send coins to valid addresses. If you attempt to send a coin to another coins address it may come up invalid, you must always send coins to an address generated for that coin. BTC to BTC, ETH to ETH, LTC to LTC and so on. Hope somebody had the same problem and can help me. At the moment Im looking at this reddit article about nano ledger + litecoin + segwit/legacy For me its a right pain in the arse, unless Im doing something wrong. But the way I access my Wallets is by going to this address in chrome: chrome://apps I cant find a shortcut anywhere else, it feels completely backwards (unless Im missing something) I have desktop shortcuts for Ripple, BTC, and Ethereum. I do not have my LTC stored on my Nano at this time. Waiting for Christmas time to get another Nano or Blue as the Nano can only support a few wallets. Funny I wa Continue reading >>

Nano Ledger S - Litecoin Wallet?

I opened up the Ledger Manager (chrome app) and installed LiteCoin app, it appears on my Nano now. But i don't have an app in chrome://apps, like there's no Wallet app so i don't know how to use it. This support website : Seems to suggest i should open the "Ledger Wallet Bitcoin" chrome app... well i don't see how i can transfer funds to my LiteCoin wallet that way. Plus if i do that, i'm in the Bitcoin wallet on the Nano, and if i try to go anywhere else... i end up just getting prompted for the Nano PIN again. This Nano seems to really isolate stuff, like if i go from Ledger Manager (chrome app), and then try to open say "Ledger Wallet Bitcoin" (chrome app), the chrome app prompts me to connect my device again. I find i have to constantly unplug and re-connect the USB anytime i try and come out of something or open the "Ledger Wallet Ethereum" (chrome app). The whole thing is turning out to be an exercise in unplugging / replugging/ reinserting Nano pin.. this is not a well managed device from my POV. 12+ exclusive games The Bitcoin Casino by Primedice Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. The window should then load on your computer and display the litecoin wallet. Litecoin Wallet Access Problem With Ledger Nano S [solved]

Litecoin Wallet Access Problem With Ledger Nano S [solved]

yesterday I had some strange issues regarding my Ledger Nano S hardware-wallet. While trying to open the Litecoin wallet with the Bitcoin Chrome application, synchronization took forever and I never reached the wallet. I checked the Ledger knowledge base and found some tips to solve this: check that you do not have any firewall or security program which would block our servers I tried out all of this and also reinstalled the Litecoin app on the Ledger, but nothing helped. At least I was still able to access all the other wallets (like Bitcoin and Ether). So I went to sleep and had some really bad nightmares about loosing all my coins. But this morning I tried opening the Litecoin wallet again. And guess what? When opening the Litecoin wallet I ended up being on a "Bitcoin Test" - Blockchain and the same thing happened when I was trying to open the Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash wallets. I was very short before heart attack and opened up the support form on the Ledger-site, but what I read there wasn't so funny either: Due to a phenomenal number of messages since the Bitcoin fork, you'll likely receive an answer within 2 to 3 weeks (Monday-Friday CEST). The best way to fix your issue is most of the time to read our guides and FAQ on . Before I really went mad, I had just one more idea: I headed over to reddit and found the Ledger wallet subreddit . I instantly felt a great relieve when I noticed, that I wasn't the only one having exactly the same issue. Finally it turned out to be a build issue of the Ledger Bitcoin Chrome extension. Ledger just updated the extension to be able to handle the Bitcoin-Segwit addresses, but that somehow disabled the Litecoin wallet. All I had to do was manually updating the Chrome extension to Version 1.9.2 by going to chrome://extensions/ and m Continue reading >>

How To Get Started With Litecoin?

How To Get Started With Litecoin?

In this short guide well go through the steps required for getting started with the popular cryptocurrency Litecoin (LTC): how to obtain it, store it, and send it. Litecoin is an early clone (or fork ) of Bitcoin. Charlie Lee, the author of Litecoin, was a Google engineer and until recently a programmer for Coinbase . He created Litecoin in 2011 when he decided to look under the hood of Bitcoin and learn what the blockchain is all about. He realized that it was quite easy to make something better than Bitcoin offers even today, and thus decided to reduce the time required to mine a block from 10 minutes to 2.5 minutes, and increased the theoretical maximum supply of LTC to 84 million (from Bitcoins theoretical maximum of 21 million). The mining algorithm was also changed to one which requires more RAM. Until recently, this made it harder to mine on ASIC machines computers designed to perform just this one function very well, thus giving an unfair advantage to all who can obtain them. When Coinbase added Litecoin as an entry currency to its offers, LTCs popularity exploded, turning it into a viable long term threat to both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Bitfalls : Contact us if youd like to buy some. No verification is needed, and transaction size has no upper limit (within reason).
