Understand The Market Depth Charts In Trading Hacker Noon

As more tech guys and common people rather than traditional traders entering cryptocurrencies, more concepts on trading needs a revisit and explained in common man terminology to get familiar. Though charts are not new in our day to day life, few of them are specifically useful while trading. If you have decided to enter the world of cryptocurrency world, these are some well explained step by step guides on how to buy Bitcoin , Ethereum and Litecoin from Coinbase . Once you buy some of these and want to jump into trading, you move onto platform like GDAX (Exchange of Coinbase ). GDAX is a well designed platform which shows the order book, history of orders and charts varying from candlestick, bar charts and a Depth Chart. In this article well focus on understanding a Depth Chart. Depth charts is one of those which can let you know about Demand and Supply. It gives a visualization of demand or supply of a particular stock or commodity or a cryptocurrency. Today, well try to understand why these depth charts are needed and how to read them. You probably already know the relationship between supply and demand. Depth charts are something to essentially show the supply and demand at different prices. Depth Chart Screenshot from GDAX 08/12/2017 A depth chart for a bid/ask market has two lines, one for BIDs (BUY orders) and one for ASKs (SELL orders). GDAX live chart has an Green line for BIDs (BUY orders), a Red line for ASKs (SELL orders). Again, a line on a chart is simply made up by plotting dots. Each dot on a depth chart line represents how much can be traded at that point. BIDs (BUY orders) are placed with dollars. I might enter that I want to buy 2.0 BTC at $3300 each, but really that is a total bid size of $6600 USD for trade at $3300 or lower. ASKs (SELL orders) are Continue reading >>

Market Data subject to terms of use and privacy policy . All Rights Reserved. User agreement applies. BarchartOpinionsshow traders what a variety of popular trading indicators are suggesting in terms of going long or short. The Opinions takes up to 2 years' worth of historical data and runs these prices through thirteen different technical indicators. After each calculation, the program assigns a buy, sell or hold value for each study, depending on where the price lies in reference to the common interpretation of the study. For example, if the price is above the moving average of the stock then this is generally considered an upward trend or a buy. Note: A security needs to have at least 101 active trading days in order to generate an Opinion reading. The Short, Medium and Long term indicators are grouped together and calculated separately for their groups. The overall indicator is a composite of all 13 studies listed on the page. The indicator value is determined by adding up the totals for the different groups and dividing this sum by the number of studies in the group. The indicator is expressed in terms of a percentage. If the total is greater than zero, then this is a Buy. If the total is zero, then this is a Hold. If the total is less than zero, then this is a Sell. To keep the results in a more logical format, we factor the overall opinion by 1.04 to keep the end result in multiples of 8 percentage points, with the exception of a 100% buy or sell. This is why the opinion indicators will be displayed as 8%, 16%, ... 88%, 96% and 100%, for example, rather the exact percentage value. Opinions are updated every ten minutes throughout the day, using delayed data from the exchanges. This section shows a snapshot view of the Trader's Cheat Sheet with the Last Price, and Continue reading >>

Charts - What Do Red And Green Bars At Bitcoinity.org Mean? - Bitcoin Stack Exchange

what do red and green bars at bitcoinity.org mean? The changebars graph at has red and green bars. Some of them below and some above zero. Is there a wikipedia article about that kind of graph? What would the search term be? The rest of the graph is explained here but not the red and green bars. If you're answering your own question, please put it as an answer and select it as the correct one. Compro01 Mar 25 '13 at 16:18 If you click on the WTF on the upper right corner you get explanations for all of the graphs. But not yet for the bars being below or above zero. The author will add that soon (2013-03-23). Meanwhile you can look at a reddit question here: green bars above the axis represent increases in buy/bid orders red bars below the axis represent decreases in buy/bid orders red bars above the axis represent increases in sell/ask orders green bars below the axis represent decreases in sell/ask orders (I think you can replace axis and above/below by current price and right/left, then it is correct. Though this does not explain the bars above and below the line parallel to the x axis) Well, I didnt completely understand, why they are above and below, but I understood from the WTF explanation on the site, what red and green means. tl;dr: Green has different meaning, if it is left of the current price or if it is right of the current price. Same for red bars. Maybe comboy, the author of that site, adds a good explanation for this soon (he promised to do so on freenode irc chat). Continue reading >>

"bitcoin Trading Basics - Using Renko Bars And Support/resistance" By Trader Bonavest Published February 10, 2018 Tradingview

supportandresistance movingaverage bitcoin renko renkobars direction In this Video Chart I just wanted to introduce new traders to another shiny tool they can add to their toolbox. I think for even the smaller time frame traders, looking at trend direction on the higher time frames like the daily is important to give bias to your positions. Because Renko bars are based on price and not on time this helps clear up all the noise of the ups and downs and concentrates on the overall direction of the underlying instrument being trading. Check it out and compare it to your existing charts and/or use it to bias your trades and let me know in the comments how it works out for you. *EDIT: I said in the video Renko bars are for 'Ranging' markets, but I meant to say 'Trending' markets. Ranging is when price tends to go up and down alot. However, the Renko bars will tend to smooth out the ranging on smaller timeframes. Trade closed: target reached: So Istarted payign attention to this chart after I made the video and check it out... so beautiful. $11,200 was the next resistance level and it just touched it perfectly as well as the 200 SMA. Bitcoin keeps coming back in the headlines. With any Bitcoin price change making news and keeping investors guessing. In countries that accept it, you can buy groceries and clothes just as you would with the local currency. Only bitcoin is entirely digital; no one is carrying actual bitcoins around in their pocket. Bitcoin is divorced from governments and central banks. It's organized through a network known as a blockchain, which is basically an online ledger that keeps a secure record of each transaction and bitcoin price all in one place. Every time anyone buys or sells bitcoin, the swap gets logged. Several hundred of these back-and-forths make up a block. No one controls these blocks, because blockchains are decentralized across every computer that has a bitcoin wallet, which you only get if you buy bitcoins. True to its origins as an open, decentralized currency, bitcoin is meant to be a quicker, cheaper, and more reliable form of payment than money tied to individual countries. In addition, it's the only form of money users can theoretically "mine" themselves, if they (and their computers) have the ability. But even for those who don't discover using their own high-powered computers, anyone can buy and sell bitcoins at the bitcoin price they want, typically through online exchanges like Coinbase or LocalBitcoins. A 2015 survey showed bitcoin users tend to be overwhelmingly white and male, but of varying incomes. The people with the most bitcoins are more likely to be using it for illegal purposes, the survey suggested. Each bitcoin has a complicated ID, known as a hexadecimal code, that is many times more difficult to steal than someone's credit-card information. And since there is a finite number to be accounted for, there is less of a chance bitcoin or fractio Continue reading >>
