So the latest news from the world of digital dosh is bound to cause even more stress for traders. The price of three top cryptocurrencies has plummeted in recent days, prompting fears that the bubble is about to burst and a crash is on the way. Bitcoin has slumped from a high of about $17,000 to just under $15,000, while Ripple dropped from $3.77 to $2.39 and LiteCoin from $298 to $251. There is some good news for Ethereum investors. It has just reached a historic high of roughly $1,500. This chart shows the progress of Bitcoin over the past week (Credit: Coinbase) Ripple has not fared much better (Credit: Coinbase) And now the good news this is the price of Ethereum (Credit: Coinbase) However, investors could still be facing a grim journey into a world of pain. Charles Hoskinson, founder of Ethereum, thinks the bubble is about to burst. My personal opinion is that were going to see a consolidation after a crash, he told CNBC. He said the problem would be made worse by all the bonkers cryptocurrency projects, which have included a Bitcoin for porn and DogeCoin a parody currency now worth more than $1billion. Whats going to occur is a lot of these ventures that dont have strong fundamentals, dont have good tech, or just unrealistic projects, they will eventually run into some major wall they cant quite overcome. They will fracture up and you will see a lot of them are certain to f Continue reading >>

Bitcoin To Crash Between 4th And 15th Of January 2018?!

Bitcoin To Crash Between 4th And 15th Of January 2018?!

Bitcoin to CRASH between 4th and 15th of January 2018?! As much as I am super bullish on Bitcoin and crypto in general in the long term, I do also have short term fears about the market going into 2018. Here is why: Bitcoin is up more than 1000% since start of January this year so far. As we have seen multiple times this year already, such gains do not come without corrections, FUD and drama. If Bitcoin goes to around 10k+ around end of this year, chances are we are in for another technical correction. I believe going into Christmas and holiday period, many people want to get out of the market to relax more and forget about the extreme volatility and random panick attacks that come with investing in crypto. CME Group futures is planned to go live 2nd week of December. This represents professional investors which have experience in volatile markets and know more about market psychology than any of us. If these people start shorting Bitcoin in late Dec / early Jan, what will happen? Just looking at the Bitcoin/USD chart the last 3 years, you will see that Bitcoin has corrected every year between 4th and 15th of January. History tends to repeat itself, doesnt it? You can have a look below at some screenshots I just made: An interesting perspective it would be useful to know how long it took for the price to recover after the correction each year. Bitcoin tends to recover very fast if you look at the charts the last 2 years and especially this year. So I am not worried if you are a HODLer with long term perspective. If you are looking to swing trade the market however, this could be a golden opportunity. I think that if we are in for a correction again around this time, something tells me it can be in the 40-50% range due to what I mentioned above. Even the professional in Continue reading >>

Bitcoin Drops 28% Below $10,000 On Coinbase; Ethereum Crashes 30% In 24 Hours

In fact, nearly every major cryptocurrency suffered massive losses during the day. Ethereum traded at about $1,062 as of 8:12 p.m. ET. That represented a sizable rebound after hitting a low of $854 earlier in the afternoon. Coinbase is the leading U.S. marketplace for trading bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and bitcoin cash. But at around 10:50 p.m. ET, the price of ethereum fell below $1,000 again to trade at $973. The declines followed comments from South Korean authorities that indicated tougher regulation on digital currency trading. However, there was no immediately apparent driver behind the late-afternoon decline. Bitcoin dropped 28 percent to a low of $9,969 on Coinbase, but quickly jumped back up to trade back above $11,000 as of 8:12 p.m., ET. At about 10:50 p.m. ET, bitcoin prices slipped again to trade at $10,757. Bitcoin has now nearly halved in price after topping $19,800 in mid-December. But the digital currency remains more than 1,100 percent higher over the last 12 months, according to Coinbase. Ripple , the third-largest digital currency by market capitalization, traded near $1.05 after earlier plunging 46 percent to near 90 cents, according to CoinMarketCap. Last week, the site began excluding prices from some South Korean exchanges, where ripple trades about 20 cents higher. Continue reading >>

Here we analyze the possibility of a Litecoin crash. Litecoin [caption id="attachment_111026" align="alignleft" width="300"] Litecoins moonshot journey has sent investors into a tizzy. Is Litecoin in a bubble? Will Litecoin crash in 2018? What can cause a Litecoin crash?Questions like these are creating an air of fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) about a possible Litecoin crash. This "FUD" factor is beginning to shroud LTC prices as we watch them shift into reverse gear.So I'll cut straight to the chase and address your concerns. I hate to say this, but, yes! Wait, this doesnt automatically mean that a crash is around the corner (I'll get to that question shortly). For now, hold your horses and allow me to explain why I call it a bubble. If you look at the LTC price chart below, you can see two distinct sections on the chartthe price trajectory marked with green and the one marked with red.I would classify the green portion as the usual uptrend in prices. This is the price action we've seen for the most part of this yearas Litecoin prices made a steady northward advance. There were some swings here and there but nothing out of the ordinary. As soon as we move toDecember, however, prices go hyperbolic. The skewed triple-digit ascension is a classic Continue reading >>

Bitcoin, Ripple and Litecoin prices plummet as cryptocurrency market crashes by 120BILLION instantly after website ditches South Korean exchange data CoinMarketCap's decision to exclude average-price data from Bithumb, Coinone and Korbit resulted in a sudden drop in displayed prices THE value of global cryptocurrencies plummeted after an influential index removed prices from the South Korean exchanges without warning. Prices on Seoul's financial exchanges for virtual currencies like Bitcoin are typically up to 30 per cent higher than in other countries. Bitcoin has suffered a major fall in recent days CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse, explains how he sees the future for his cryptocurrency and its rival Bitcoin However, CoinMarketCap - arguably the industry's most prominent global index - triggered anxiety and anger when it suddenly removed a group of Korean exchanges from its price calculations. The widely used research sites decision to exclude average price data from Bithumb, Coinone and Korbit resulted in a sudden drop in displayed prices. That caused confusion among investors and partly contributed to a major sell-off, also fuelled by news that South Korean and Chinese regulators planned to increase monitoring of trading and mining . "We excluded some Korean exchanges in price calculations due to the extreme divergence in prices from the rest of the world and limited arbitrage opportunity," Coinmarketcap wrote on Twitter. "We are working on better tools to provide users with the averages that are most relevant to them." The total market capitalisation of more than 1,300 cryptocurrencies tracked by Coinmarketcap fell from around $830bn to bottom out at $669bn - a drop of 20 per cent. Among the hardest hit were Ripple , Litecoin and Bitcoin cash, which on January 9 w Continue reading >>

LONDON Bitcoin is back above $7,000 on Tuesday afternoon, after wild price swings saw it briefly drop below $6,000 earlier in the session. Bitcoin briefly fell below $6,000 at around 8.00 a.m. GMT (3.00 a.m. ET) for the first time since mid-November. Hussein Sayed, chief market strategist at FXTM, said on Tuesday morning: "The most famous digital currency has fallen 69% from December's record high, and almost 56% from the start of the year." Ethereum, litecoin, bitcoin cash, and ripple also posted double-digit percentage losses early on Tuesday morning. Ethereum was down 18% at one stage. But cryptos made up ground lunchtime in Europe and now, with the US awake, major cryptocurrencies are now positive. Here's the scoreboard at 1.55 p.m. GMT (8.55 a.m. ET): Despite making up ground, bitcoin is still down around 35% over the last 7 days. From a peak of $830 billion at the start of January, the global cryptocurrency market has now shrunk to $330 billion, according to data provider CoinMarketCap.com. Tuesday's wild session follows carnage in the crypto market on Friday and a market slump in early January . The latest dive comes in tandem with a global stock market rout but that appears to be uncorrelated with the crypto crash. Commentators have been blaming fears of regulation, cooling interest from Asia, and fears over the role cryptocurrency Tether plays in the bitcoin market. Banks are also clamping down on customers buying cryptocurre Continue reading >>

Litecoin Founder Sells All His Litecoin But Promises Not To Leave

Litecoin Founder Sells All His Litecoin But Promises Not To Leave Charlie Lee, founder of the cryptocurrency Litecoin (LTC) has sold all his LTC, but will devote himself to growing the Litecoin platform Litecoin (LTC) founder Charlie Lee announced today on Reddit and Twitter that he has completely unloaded all his Litecoin holdings via selling and donation. He wrote on Reddit: For the first time in 6+ years, I no longer own a single LTC thats not stored in a physical Litecoin. (I do have a few of those as collectibles.) According to his Reddit post, the amount Lee sold was a small percentage of GDAXs daily volume, and it did not crash the market. Please read the whole post. Reddit thread is here: pic.twitter.com/VoIlA0Xjj3 Charlie Lee [LTC] (@SatoshiLite) December 20, 2017 According to the announcement, Lee decided to sell all of his Litecoin because of the potential for conflict of interest, given the influence his personal statements can have on the coins price. He explained that by selling all his LTC, he can fully separate his own opinions and actions from the performance of the cryptocurrency, stating: whenever I tweet about Litecoin price or even just good or bads news, I get accused of doing it for personal benefit. Some people even think I short LTC! So in a sense, it is a conflict of interest for me to hold LTC and tweet about it because I have so much influence. Lee did give some clue regarding his future, reassuring users that he is in no way abandoning his creation. With his own personal finances stable, he plans to devote himself to Litecoin, and expects to meet with a variety of other rewards beyond the price appreciation of his coins: Dont worry. Im not quitting Litecoin. I will still spend all my time working on Litecoin. When Litecoin succeeds, I will Continue reading >>

Litecoin [caption id="attachment_115305" align="alignleft" width="300"] It is no longer just a market correction. The cryptocurrency market is crashing. Theres no milder way to put it now. Its happening and we must acknowledge it.Ive remained optimistic through the recent dips caused by corrective market forces, all of which were followed by a reversal in a day or two. This time, however, its a free fall for cryptocurrency prices, with no bottom in sight. If its any consolation, youre not alone in this. All the top cryptocurrencies are drenched in red, so Litecoin investors are in the same boat as Bitcoin, Ripple, and Ethereum investors. We could blame the South Koreans for causing this mayhem, but the sad reality is, that most of us are equally to blame for triggering this crash.Investors did not hold true to the only tenet of crypto-investing. They refused to "hold on for dear life "or "HODL" as we say in the crypto-world.This crash has been triggered by the mob mentality. As soon as prices tumbled, fear of losing provoked investors to sell their holdings. A perpetual drop ensued. If only the majority had held on to their coins, there would never have been a crash. If youre one of the few HODLers who have been playing by the rules, here are a few things you can do to avoid making a Continue reading >>

Litecoin (ltc): Will We See A Roller Coaster Ride This Week?

Litecoin (ltc): Will We See A Roller Coaster Ride This Week?

Litecoin (LTC): Will We See A Roller Coaster Ride This Week? It has been weeks of turmoil for the steady Litecoin (LTC) but things seem to be on the upward trends after Charlie Lee predictions on the coins future. With the launch of LitePay today, the cryptocurrency landscape will never be the same again. Litecoin (LTC) prices seem to clawing back after weeks of loses to surpass their earlier all time high of $222.88 to hit a new milestone of $227.37 today with a good run of 9.34% in the last 24 hrs. This seems to go against the odds and a good indication that the anticipated launch of LitePay today will push the prices higher. Litecoin (LTC) Market Penetration and Performance With a market capitalization of $12.5 billion, Litecoin is ranked number five and challenging for a higher rank. Over the last 24 hours, $1.3 LTC coins have already exchanged hands according to reports. The most active exchanges are OKEx and Coinbases GDAX each accounting for 31% and 11% days turnover. Litecoin (LTC) performing comes at the backdrop of creation of Litecoin Cash (LCC) which has not been impressive to date. LCC hit an all-time high of $9 immediately after the February 18th fork and it seems to dip down further; it is trading at $3.09 after shedding a further 6.11% in the last 24 hours to remain in the red. Charlie Lee, founder of Litecoin on his twitter handle (@SatoshiLite) predicted that Litecoin is going to beat Bitcoin Cash (BTC) by close of the year. The ETH/BTC trends have not been holding steady compared to LTC/BCH and this could drastically change the crypto landscape. However, BCH value is higher than that of LTC; with the recent market crash anything can go the Litecoin way. Litecoin has been casted positively in the news and the prediction seems valid. Litecoin Beats Bitcoin's Price In 2018: But What Is It? | Fortune

With digital currency Bitcoin taking the spotlight in 2017, its hard to remember the other cryptocurrencies that have been growing in its shadow. An increasingly-prominent example: Litecoin . The fourth largest digital currency by market capitalization has gone positively vertical this year, with Litecoin prices breaching $320 for the first time Tuesday. Since the start of 2017, Litecoin has risen 7,291% against bitcoins 1,731%. So why the rise? There doesnt seem to be a single eventthough the recent surge in interest surrounding cryptocurrencies may have pushed some investors into becoming more adventurous. Some investors may also think the price of bitcoin is overdoneand are seeking other investment opportunities. Meanwhile, Litecoin only became somewhat easier to purchase earlier this year , with Coinbase adding the cryptocurrency to its listing. One of the several clone cryptocurrencies that stemmed from Bitcoin, Litecoin forked off the Bitcoin ledger in late 2011. It was intended to be the silver to Bitcoins gold: a faster, more lightweight version of the Satoshi Nakamoto-created cryptocurrency. Instead of the approximately 10 minutes it takes for a Bitcoin transaction, a Litecoin transaction only takes 2.5 minutes. While making transactions four times faster, Litecoins creator also Charlie Lee quadrupled the maximum number of coins that can be mined. While bitcoin has a total of 21 million, Litecoin totals 84 million. And the total market value of Litecoin is currently lower: $18 billion to Bitcoins $291 billion. It is the fourth largest cryptocurrency market behind Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin cash. The higher number of Litecoins, meanwhile, could make it psychologically more attractive to buy small-ticket items using the cryptocurrency. The vision is always I Continue reading >>

Why I Sold All My Ltc Just Now :(

One day you will learn to Respect the All Mighty Chikun! $100 here we comenext stop $1000 Its true, but I really wanted to avoid the crash after the people who cant read Chinese realize that the amazon adoption is a hoax. Why are you so convinced that Litecoin went up because of the Amazon speculation? It hasnt crashed after Charlie Lee denied it, so that was almost certainly not the reason for the rise. More likely were the meetings he had with Chinese miners. Heres what he tweeted afterwards: Smart South Koreas money is storing its wealth in LTC, in case of war with North Korea - 25% of yesterdays worldwide trade was from there, following the successful missile launch. That sounds a lot like damage control. Especially cuz he legit just did what he tried to warn people about: he hyped the article facepalm Anyway, its like this, the article is in mandarin, and the hyped version is in English. So the reason it hasnt crashed fully is because, well, youd have to know mandarin to realize its a hoax :D. ofc LTC will go to $100. Its just that uhhh, dont you want to sell before it crashes so u can buy the crash? no you dont sell before the crash to buy back unless it is currently crashingthats called a panic sellif it crashes and your holding then just buy more to add to your portfoliono sense in crying because you missed out because you were sleeping or at work or whatever elseespecially since we all know its going way up form hereor that we know it always goes back up eventuallyonly way I see litecoin crashing is if coinbase doesnt get their together soonproblems with sells and buys on exchanges makes people skeptical to even participate at all thats anyones guesswe all saw what SEGWIT did to litecoin price aloneI personally think bitcoin will go to $5000 then back to $3500 Continue reading >>
