Will Ripple Overtake The Bitcoin And Why?

Will Ripple overtake the Bitcoin and why? Since December 9, Ripple has enjoyed incredible growth. In just a few days, it has grown by over 318%. The market cap of $31.2 billion helped edge away Bitcoin Cash to the fourth place for several hours in the past week. Currently, the crypto is fourth after Bitcoin Cash overtook it to take the third place. At the current rate of growth, this is a cryptocurrency to watch in the coming weeks. Ripple is a technology which is designed to act as a cryptocurrency and also as a digital payment network for financial networks. It is a pre-mined currency and its ticker symbol is XRP. The cryptocurrency was founded by Chris Larsen and Jed McCaleb in 2012. To help in finalizing financial transactions, Ripple uses a medium called Gateway. The gateway acts as a trust credit intermediary that receives and sends money over the RippleNet network. XRP currency is used as a bridge to other currencies. It is used for both Fiat and cryptocurrency transactions. Each and every currency in the network uses its own unique gateway. If for example, John wanted to receive Ethereum coins for the services rendered to Kate, Kate can send Australian dollar. John will receive ETH on his end. The growth of Ripple and its current position Ripple cryptocurrency is designed to use blockchain technology to speed up cross-border money transfers and bank settlements. At the moment, most of the transactions are facilitated on Swift which is quite old, slow and expensive. The simplicity of this cryptocurrency has attracted financial players and this is what is making it rise at a fast rate. At the start of 2017, XRP was trading at $0.0065 or 0.00000714 BTC. Its market capitalization then was $230 million. This still qualified the crypto as a big player. The market cap Continue reading >>

Bitcoin price THREAT: 'Ethereum price will TRIPLE!' Founder says it WILL surpass bitcoin BITCOIN price could soon be threatened by the growing cryptocurrency Ethereum as co-founder Steven Nerayoff predicts his creation will triple in value by the end of the year. Bitcoin price could be surpassed by ethereum as the cryptocurrency continues to surge in the virtual currencies market. Steven Narayoff, co-founder of ethereum said he is confident his cryptocurrency will triple in value by the end of 2018. In an interview with CNBC , he said: I think what weve seen with ethereum is an excellent increase in a number of projects that have been built on there. Bitcoin price threatened: 'Ethereum will triple in price', says co-founder Steven Narayoff I can see there are billions of dollars being poured into the ecosystem right now, giving ten thousands more projects this year than there were last year. I think it could easily triple the price before the end of the year. It is very likely it will surpass bitcoin. Mr Narayoff explained that with the increasing interest of the public in cryptocurrencies and his assertion that ethereum is more useful than bitcoin as it has already been used as a currency, ethereums growth could be exponential. It is very likely it will surpass bitcoin Mr Narayoff former partner, Charles Hopkinson said the cryptocurrency market will strengthen further but only after a crash. He said: My personal opinion is that we're going to see a consolidation after a crash. "What's going to occur is a lot of these ventures that don't have strong fundamentals, don't havegood techor just unrealistic projects, they will eventually run into some major wall they can't quite overcome. They will fracture up and you will see a lot of them are certain to fail." Everything y Continue reading >>

The #flippening: Will Ether 'pass' Bitcoin And What Would It Mean? - Coindesk

The #Flippening: Will Ether 'Pass' Bitcoin And What Would It Mean? No stranger to strange milestones, the cryptocurrency sector may soon see a historic first, one that could upend long-held perceptions of its market. Branded'The Flippening' by market observers, this new hypothetical is defined loosely as the point at which a competing blockchain network could replace bitcoin as the largest and best capitalized blockchain. Sparked by increasing inflows in cryptographic assets, the concept has already seen a dedicated hashtag and website . Given that bitcoin invented and popularized blockchain systems, the development could herald a time of new diversity and experimentation for the nascent sector that, until recently, was largely defined in context of bitcoin. At earlier points in 2017, bitcoin accounted for more than 80% of the total cryptocurrency market share, though this figure has been higher than 90% at times. However, so-called alternative cryptocurrencies have drawn robust inflows this year, causing their total market cap to reach a record high of roughly $117bn today, a more than 500% year-to-date increase, according to CoinMarketCap. So, will the event come to pass? And if so, what will it mean? Analysts queried by CoinDesk largely believe ethereum's ether token is most likely to spur the change, given it has increased 3,000% this year with no signs of slowing. Indeed, ether's market cap has been drawing steadily close to bitcoin's amid a broader uptick in interest for so-called 'tokens' based on the platform , with the two cryptocurrencies worth $35.9bn and $43.7bn at the time of report. Still, while some analysts focused on the promise of the ethereum network, others emphasized the perceived difficulties bitcoin has encountered of late as the reason this deve Continue reading >>

Will Ethereum Overtake Bitcoin?

The latest dramatic rise in cryptocurrency prices has come to an abrupt halt. Many coins are down by double figure percentage points with only a handful of cryptocurrencies avoiding the impact of this current sell off. One cryptocurrency that is defying the downward trend is Ethereum. As the media switches their attention to productless tokens with Twitter-happy CEOs, Ether quietly breaks through numerous all time highs with transactions/day on the network exceeding 1,300,000. A first (by some distance) for any blockchain. Ethereums relative lack of media attention should come as some welcome respite. Ethereum, like Bitcoin, is a victim of its own success. Both blockchains have become so popular that their networks are congested, dramatically increasing transaction times and the overall reliability of transfers; any further attention given to Ethereum will only go so far as to demonstrate that this technology is not quite ready. But despite its lack of readiness, Ethereum appears set to dominate headlines as it edges ever closer to supplanting Bitcoin as the top currency by market cap, something that may happen sooner than many had expected. For all of Ethereums failings (and there are failings), its long-term potential to achieve dominance as a global store of value, payment network and smart contract protocol are second to none. Ethereum is on the cusp of another explosion in adoption and price. Many people in this space have previously avoided any references to Ethereum as a store of value. A globally accepted (digital) store of value requires (among other things) stability and security of its protocol, an accomplishment well and truly achieved by Bitcoin. Ethereum on the other hand, has a protocol which is scheduled to go through a number of upgrades, each carrying Continue reading >>

Will Eth Market Cap Surpass Btc In 2018?

Since the year began, there's been no hotter investment than cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are the one-two punch in terms of largest market cap among digital currencies, have returned about 300% and 3,200%, respectively, just since the year began. By comparison, it's taken the S&P 500 decades to return what Ethereum has for its investors in just under nine months. Cryptocurrencies are skyrocketing for three reasons Emotions have obviously played a critical role in pushing digital currency prices higher. Since financial institutions have either avoided cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and Ethereum, or are barred by management from trading them, it's left the price movement to the hands of retail investors. John and Jane Q. Investor are substantially more prone to having emotions sway their investment decisions than large investment institutions. Lately, the "don't miss the boat" mentality could very well be driving prices higher. On a more fundamental basis, there's a lot of excitement surrounding the blockchain that underlies many of the top cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin and Ethereum. Blockchain is a digital decentralized network that records all transactions without the need for a financial intermediary, like a bank. Because these blockchains are often, to some degree, open-source networks, it makes altering data very difficult. Thus, blockchain could become the preferred peer-to-peer and business-to-business channel for transactions in the future for a variety of industries and sectors. Even the U.S. dollar has given a boost to cryptocurrencies since the year began. The dollar recently hit a more than two-year low against the euro, and well over a one-year low against other major currencies. When the dollar weakens, it tends to lift U.S. exports, w Continue reading >>

Ethereum Might Become The Next Crypto King As Analysts Predicts Eth Price To Surpass Btc Price

Cryptocurrencies market has been perhaps the fastest growing market in recent years, with bitcoin at the top considered the most profitable investment being the biggest marketcap cryptocurrency in history. If we make an even more daring comparison against the main traditional currencies, we can observe that while One Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) buys US $ 3.32, being the most expensive traditional currency on the planet (FIAT), One bitcoin (BTC) right now, after a big fall of almost 50% of its value, buys $ 11303.50 (Jan 29 2018, 10 am) having a total marketcap of $ 190,273,228,438 whereas Kuwaits GDP is a round $ 110.5 billion. Such huge growth in the value of bitcoin as a medium of exchange has been due to the benefits it offered. Decentralized, reliable and fast payments with minimum fees. But precisely because of its growth and acceptance, some of its virtues have become obstacles for its existence. While previously people talked about times of few minutes to verify of a transaction, the congestion caused by the high amounts of bitcoin dealings has increased the verification time to hours, especially for those whose operations are so small (micro payments ) that do not deserve the wait. Not everyone is willing to pay $ 6 to verify a small transaction of $ 10. To solve these situations, ETH has emerged as a strong competitor gaining acceptance every day thanks to the advantages it offers and the potentials of its network, with Smart-Contracts being one of the fundamental pillars that could be used in the future making Ethereum a possible better option to be considered against Bitcoin. Also, transactions in ETH are much faster when compared to btc, with a considerably cleaner mempool. This problem has been tried to be solved in bitcoin through the implementation of segwit2x , Continue reading >>

Roger Ver:

Roger Ver: "ethereum Will Overtake Bitcoin In Market Cap"

Roger Ver is quite an intriguing and somewhat controversial figure in the cryptocurrency world. As a notorious early Bitcoin investor, he has also kept close tabs on other currencies. During a recent interview, Roger mentioned how Ethereum will eventually overtake Bitcoin. A remarkable thought, even though Bitcoin is not without flaws by any means. In the world of cryptocurrency, virtually everyone knows the name Roger Ver . He is one of the earliest Bitcoin investors and made a lot of good money doing so. He is also a very strong [financial] supporter of the Bitcoin Cash venture. This Bitcoin hard fork has made quite the impact on the overall cryptocurrency market in recent months. Diversification is key in the world of cryptocurrency, as there is a lot more to check out than just Bitcoin. Unsurprisingly, Roger Ver is not too convinced Bitcoin will remain the top dog for much longer. In a recent interview, he mentions how Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin in the near future. Given the recent price surge of Ether, Ethereums native token, it is evident things will only get better from here on out. A lot of innovation is coming to Ethereum, as are some much-needed network improvements. According to Roger Ver, Ether is well underway to surpass Bitcoin. All it takes is doubling in price one more time to effectively reach this goal. That is, assuming the Bitcoin price doesnt increase further. Rest assured BTC is not done just yet in this regard either. An interesting battle has been going on between both of these currencies. Market cap is just one of the metrics people need to pay attention to when it comes to these cryptocurrencies, though. More specifically, Ether has surpassed Bitcoin in a few other key metrics. It is cheaper to use most of the time, and a lot faster in ter Continue reading >>

If people wont accept bitcoins-it's useless and governments can make law to forbid using bitcoin. So you either be in black market or will have to sell at super low price. Now, in running Polychain Capital the spaces most dominant digital assets hedge fund to date Carlson-Wee is fostering a unique macro perspective in recent months. Why unique? Because Carlson-Wees personal vantage point has made him perhaps the first person to go so far as to project Ethereum overtaking Bitcoins position as the number one cryptocurrency by market cap in 2018. Bold, to be sure. But Carlson-Wee has his reasons, as expressed in a new December 1st interview with Bloomberg: Last time I was on here I said Ethereum would pass bitcoin by the end of 2018. I would actually hold to that right now I would. Its because of the more advanced capabilities of the protocol, so the types of things were seeing built on Ethereum are almost a bit sci-fi. Its beyond anything that you would reasonably think was possible. So, to me, a lot of what Im interested in are the applications that will be natively enabled by this technology. Not an improvement in payment speed or an improvement in store of wealth, where there are many other services that offer those things. But like the internet, the most breakthrough things built on the internet were not possible in an analog world. [With] Facebook, say, there was not an offline version of Facebook. So what Im looking for and what Im excited about are those uses cases that are natively en Continue reading >>

Ethereum To Overtake Bitcoin By 2018, Says Crypto Hedge Fund Ceo

Ethereum To Overtake Bitcoin by 2018, Says Crypto Hedge Fund CEO Matthew Neuteboom June 2, 2017 7:00 am Olaf Carlson-Wee, CEO ofhedge fund Polychain Capital, says Bitcoin may lose its edge over Ethereum as soon as the end of next year. With the highest market share and price, Bitcoin remains the most popular cryptocurrency today. The aggressive growth of Ethereum, the markets second-most popular cryptocurrency, has led Carlson-Wee to predict in an interview with Bloomburg that it will overtake Bitcoin by the end of 2018. He even speculates thatthe market cap of Ethereum will surpassthat ofBitcoin before the end of this year. He explained: What weve seen in Ethereum is a much richer, organic developer ecosystem develop very, very quickly, which is what has driven Ethereums price growth, which has actually been much more aggressive than Bitcoin. The value of Bitcoin has skyrocketed more than 500% since this time last year. It currently stands at around $2,500 USD, more than ten times the value of ETH. Nevertheless, Ethereum has grown even faster, and is now worth more than 20 times its value just four months ago. Additionally, Ethereum has slowly creeped into Bitcoins market share, which has tumbled to nearly half its 90%stakejust four months ago. In that same time frame, ithas quadrupledits market share to 30%. Given current trends, it would not be surprising to see Ethereum take the lead within even a few months. Proponents of Ethereum claim it offers numerous advantages , the most important of which is that it acts as a smart contract system. Ethereum allows decentralized apps to be built on its blockchain, creating a synergistic effect that increases its value as more projects are added to it. Each projectbecomes a multiplier on the existing value of our system, resu Continue reading >>

Ripple Price: Will Ripple Overtake Bitcoin? Can Xrp Market Cap Surge Past Btc?

The finance expert said: For Rippleto surpass this, the cryptocurrency would only need to get to $6.57. This would require a rise of 164 percent. It rose nearly 36,000 percent last year. Mr Kharpal argued that it would not be impossible for either Rippleor ethereum to claim the top spot in in the charts sometime in the future. At the moment, ethereums ether token stands a better chance of gaining the upper hand on bitcoin , the expert added. Ripple vs Bitcoin: The XRP token surged last week to overcome ethereum in the marksts Ethereum will only need to grow 134 percent on its Monday morning prices to claim the crowning glory in the crypto markets, compared to Ripple's164 percent. For Ripple to surpass this, the cryptocurrency would only need to get to $6.57 Mr Kharpal said: With bitcoin's dominance standing at record lows, and alternative cryptocurrencies seeing big price leaps, it's not inconceivable that either ether or Ripplecould claim the top spot in terms of market cap soon. Of course, if bitcoin sees a surge in price this year, it will make it harder for either cryptocurrency to surpass it. But some analysts have dismissed the speculation surrounding Ripple'svalue and warned its end-of-year bull run is a tell-tale sign of an impeding crypto bubble. Ripple prices: XRP rallied last month to all-time highs but has since somewhat plummeted in value As of 5.13pm on January 8, Ripple'sprices are down more than 25 percent on Sunday and have been on a slow downward trajectory since January 4. Erik Voorhees, CEO of cryptocurrency exchange ShapeShift, tore into the token and accused it of using established banks to boost its legitimacy. He said: "The reason Rippleis surging so much is it's a bubble. "Testing crypto with banks doesn't make sense. The whole idea of crypto i Continue reading >>

Bitcoin Cash will Surpass Bitcoin Because of its Formula, Says Roger Ver Join our community of 10 000 traders on Hacked.com for just $39 per month. Digital asset exchanges are gateways for regular individuals and corporations to participate in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. These exchanges serve as platforms where tokens and digital assets can be traded across each other and also across fiat currencies. Hence, they represent a crucial aspect of the industry in determining the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies and their underlying technology. As new cryptos emerge, either as a result of brand new innovations or blockchain protocol modification (forks), their growth and sustainability depend largely on the level of demand by the community. This explains why it is such a big deal whenever new tokens are listed on any major exchange. It makes them more available and open for effective trading for members of the crypto community. In a recent post, US-based digital asset exchange, GDAX announced that it will open its BCH-BTC Order Book on Wednesday, January 17 at 9:00 am PST. This announcement came after an initial show of support for Bitcoin Cash by the exchange some weeks before the time of writing. During its previous attempt, GDAX experienced some setback after BCH trading was halted on the platform. The halt is suspected to be as a result of ongoing investigation into how some people manage to manipulate orders across the exchange. The typical trend when such events occur is a significant increase in value of any newly enlisted token on a major exchange. Having faced a rather controversial existence, especially during the hard fork which brought BCH into existence, the cryptocurrency has towed its own peculiar growth pattern. In its initial growth stages, we saw BC Continue reading >>

Wil Ethereum Surpass Bitcoin In The Long Term?

Wil Ethereum Surpass Bitcoin In The Long Term?

I don't think it will surpass it before 5 or 10 years. In the mind of neophytes, the only crypto currency is Bitcoin. Medias only know Bitcoin. So when people will really be interested in blockchain and crypto currency, they all will go on Bitcoin, because it's the famous one. When the whole world will be pluged in with crypto, they will start to check what is around it, and they will discover contracts, services, and the companies will (thay already did) start working on blockchain services and use some concepts, like ethereum or maybe other new ones. In the same time, Bitcoin will arrive at it cap, and all the coins will be mined, so those coins will take again some value for their rarity. After some years, when the usefullness of BTC will start to decrease (because nearly all the coins that are currency are currently faster and safer than BTC). Then, maybe, ETH will start to surpass BTC. In any way, both of them will be surely very high and will take value with time. Every thing here is, of course, pure hypothesis Quote from: cryptopher1 on October 23, 2017, 08:04:10 AM Bitcoin ofcouse is the main cryptocurrency but what do you guys think of long term value of Ethereum? seems that developers do not like it much but its applications seems limitless. could it surpass bitcoin in future? I agree many crypto enthusiast was already using the ethereum blockchain ,I think the more people adapt to it the larger it's value will increase , so right now I am Holding some amount of ethereum and stored it to some secured wallet because I know in no time it could surpass the bitcoin value Quote from: cryptopher1 on October 23, 2017, 08:04:10 AM Bitcoin ofcouse is the main cryptocurrency but what do you guys think of long term value of Ethereum? seems that developers do not like it Continue reading >>
