Ethereum is a cryptocurrency and a blockchain platform with smart contract functionality. Its basically a decentralized platform for developers to build apps on top of and it was invented by Vitalik Buterin in 2013. Ethereum can be used to codify, decentralized, secure and trade just about anything: voting, domain names, financial exchanges, crowdfunding, company governance, contracts and agreements of most kind, intellectual property. Well, Ether is the currency of the Etherium platform. Etherwill be required by anyone wishing to build upon oruse the Ethereum platform. Just like BItcoin, Ether can be traded around the web and mined. In a second Ill show you exactly where you can buy it. Most people use the term Ethereum to refer to the currency instead of Ether and thats why it can get so confusing. The total supply of ether and its rate of issuance was decided by the donations gathered on the 2014 presale of the currency. The results were roughly: 60 million ether created to contributors of the presale 12 Million (20% of the above) were created to the development fund, most of it going to early contributors and developers and the remaining to the Ethereum Foundation 5 ethers are created every block (roughly 15-17 seconds) to the miner of the block 2-3 ethers are sometimes sent to another miner if they were also able to find a solution but his block wasnt included (called uncle/aunt reward) The founders of Ethereum state that Ether is not a currency as much Continue reading >>

Should I Sell Eth For Btc?

Should I Sell Eth For Btc?

Hey everyone, total newbie here. I've only just started (End of May) picking up some BTC/ETH with my (very little I must admit 850 total) spare cash. I'd like to be at least aiming to get at least 1 BTC as a general start to save for the long run, so far I have 0.29 BTC and 1.96 ETH. After reading lots I figured it would be best to spread it between the 2 but part of me is thinking I should sell the ETH and buy alittle more BTC to bring me upto 0.5 BTC OR should I just hodl both and keep buying more BTC when I get the chance? There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used. Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction. Advertise here. Bitcoin is going be the top crypto, especially now when scaling solution is underway. You want to have as much BTC as possible. From the other hand, ETH with its rapid growth, ICO craze and countless projects is being hyped as well. It is as you said, you should keep both BTC and ETH, just don't sell anything. Just use your fiat to buy more BTC. i personally prefer to consider altcoins for only trading short term and nothing more. so in case of your ETH investment i prefer trading it, as in buy in the dips and sell after a small profit to get more bitcoin out. and as for bitcoin i consider it as the main investment that i try to add to it any way i can. be it buying with extra cash that i have or any job i do online or trading. all of it will add to the bitcoin that i hold and i plan on holding it for many years. it is your decision to see Continue reading >>

How To Buy Ethereum & Best Exchange Ratings

How To Buy Ethereum & Best Exchange Ratings

While all of these cryptocurrency exchanges do the same thing (facilitate buying and selling cryptocurrencies), they operate differently. To make things easier to understand, weve outlined 3 groups of exchanges: Group A This first group of exchanges allows users to trade fiat currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.) and cryptocurrencies on an open market. These sites function similarly to traditional forex and stock exchanges, allowing users to make limit, market, stop, and even margin trades. Typically, these sites have limited deposit and withdrawal methods for fiat currencies, most commonly offering bank wires and bank transfers. While these sites can be complicated for new users, they typically have the lowest fees of any group. Exchanges in Group A include Gemini, Kraken, GDAX, & CEX.IO (CEX.IO also offers group B offerings). Group B The second group of exchanges operate more like online cryptocurrency retail stores. Rather than have their users make trades on a market, they directly facilitate the purchase and sale of cryptocurrency with their users. This creates a more beginner friendly process than group A exchanges. These exchanges also typically allow users to make purchases with debit and credit cards, in addition to bank wires/transfers. While these sites are typically thought of as the easiest ways for beginners to buy and sell Ethereum, they charge higher fees than Group A exchanges. Exchanges in Group B include Coinbase, CEX.IO, and Coinmama. Group C The last group of exchanges work similarly to Group A exchanges, but only offer cryptocurrency trading. This means on these exchanges you can only trade cryptocurrencies for other cryptocurrencies. This group does not offer the ability to buy or sell cryptocurrencies with fiat currency. Exchanges in Group C include Continue reading >>

How To Start Trading Cryptocurrency And Altcoins On Binance

How to start trading cryptocurrency and altcoins on Binance Coinbase is not available to South Africans and Germans (and is only supported for these countries ): Coinbase changed their TOS in 2017 and has started revoking access for users from non-supporting countries. You can then only buy buy ETH via Changelly or Luno (South African exchange). If you are based in a SEPA country, I suggest you use Litebit.eu . Other options to buy Ethereum with credit cards: From feedback, users have reported success here: Changelly (careful markup), CoinMama and Cex.io (registrations currently disabled). After you have dabbled in in crypto-currency on Luno, you are now ready to really go underground and have major #FOMO since your friends are investors in XVG, NEO, OMG, ENG, XRP coins which are referred to as altcoins as they typically do not trade on consumer exchanges such as Coinbase, Luno and others. My personal favourite exchange is Binance. Binance is a secure exchange that many people use, I like that Binance fees are halved because they have their own currency Binance coin(BNB) which will when used to pay your transaction fee will cut your fee in half! Binance is a popular Chinese cryptocurrency exchange, which is popular for its crypto to crypto exchange services. While the company is still fairly new on the market, it has managed to gain a lot of popularity thanks to its impressive number of Initial Coin Offering listings, but also due to its low trading fees (0.1% or a 50% discount if you use their own BNB currency). Binance is headed by Changpeng Zhao and a team distributed around the world.
