I setup a mining pool for new miners. It's focused on the more casual miners, people with lower hash rates (but others are welcome), simple instructions to be up and mining in minutes. It's built using the open ethereum pool source, and still looks a bit generic as I haven't spent much time to customize it yet. The pool is setup on a dedicated, hosted server, 1gig network, 8 core super fast system. Payout is set at 0.05 and set to run payouts every 10 minutes. Continue reading >>

Genesis Mining Review - It's Not As Profitable As You'd Think

Last updated on January 2nd, 2018 at 12:00 am About every other Bitcoin question I get is should I invest in cloud mining? Ive talked a lot about Bitcoin investments in the past . One of the things I always tell people who ask me about cloud mining is that I think 99.99% of the companies who offer cloud mining services are probably scams. Meaning, they dont actually mine Bitcoins with the money you give them, they only use it to pay out other users until the owners run out of money and vanish. However there is 0.01% of companies who actually do run mining hardware and mine Bitcoins for you. Genesis Mining is one of them. Genesis mining was founded in 2013 an is one of the oldest Bitcoin companies around. Its definitely one of the most well known companies when it comes to cloud mining. Genesis has a publicly known mining farm set up in Iceland as shown in this video: The miners on the farm are able to mine Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, Monero, Litecoin and Zcash. However all of the information I brought in this post up until know is somewhat general knowledge. Today I want to dig in deeper into the cloud mining business model and try to answer the question is it profitable to cloud mine Bitcoins? Since there are six different currencies that can be mined I want to focus only on Bitcoin cloud mining for the moment since I believe its the most popular product on Genesis Mining. Before I begin I just want to mention that I did a previous write up on this matter almost 2years ago. The idea of cloud mining is very simple. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on Bitcoin mining hardware , you can pay someone to lease their hardware and keep the profits to yourself. The company thatrents out the miners takes care of the maintenance and all of the hassle of setting them up. Howe Continue reading >>

If payments can't be locked (another lock exist, usually after a failure) module will halt payouts. Deduct balance of a miner and log pending payment Submit a transaction to a node via eth_sendTransaction If transaction submission fails, payouts will remain locked and halted in erroneous state. If transaction submission was successful, we have a TX hash: After payout session, payment module will perform BGSAVE (background saving) on Redis if you have enabled bgsave option. If your payout is not logged and not confirmed by Ethereum network you can resolve it automatically. You need to payouts in maintenance mode by setting up RESOLVE_PAYOUT=1 or RESOLVE_PAYOUT=True environment variable: RESOLVE_PAYOUT=1 ./build/bin/open-ethereum-pool payouts.json. Payout module will fetch all rows from Redis with key eth:payments:pending and credit balance back to miners. Usually you will have only single entry there. If you see No pending payments to resolve we have no data about failed debits. If there was a debit operation performed which is not followed by actual money transfer (after eth_sendTransaction returned an error), you will likely see: Will credit back following balances:Address: 0xb85150eb365e7df0941f0cf08235f987ba91506a, Amount: 166798415 Shannon, 2016-05-11 08:14:34 Credited 166798415 Shannon back to 0xb85150eb365e7df0941f0cf08235f987ba91506a Usually every maintenance run ends with following message and halt: Payouts unlockedNow you have to restart payouts module with RESOLVE_PAYOUT=0 for normal run Unset RESOLVE_PAYOUT=1 or run payouts with RESOLVE_PAYOUT=0. 5 Best Ethereum Mining Pools To Join 2017 / 2018 (comparison)

5 Best Ethereum Mining Pools To Join 2017 / 2018 (comparison)

Jordan Tuwiner Last updated July 13, 2017 Once you get Ethereum mining hardware , your next step is to decide on which Ethereum mining pool youll join. A mining pool helps you get more frequent payouts rather than only getting paid when you solve an Ether block. Note that mining has a lot of up-front costs, and if you just want Ether than its usually a better idea to just buy Ethereum . Youll also need Ethereum mining software to point your hardware towards your selected pool. And, an Ethereum wallet to receive payouts to . Weve listed the top pools in order of hash rate share according to Etherchain : The pools below are mining pools. This means you need to own mining hardware. If you want another company to mine for you you need cloud mining . Ethpool and Ethermine are two different sites although they appear to be basically the same pool. They are currently the largest Ether mining pool with about 25% of the networks hash rate. F2pool is also a Bitcoin mining pool. Its Ether mining pool appears to only be available in Chinese, so this is not a good option for most of our readers. DwarfPool is the third largest Ethereum mining pool with about 13% of the networks hash rate. In addition to Ether you can mine a bunch of other currencies like Monero and Dash. ethfans is another Chinese pool with about 8.6% of the network hash rate. If you just want ether, mining is NOT the best way to obtain coins. Buying ether is the EASIEST and FASTEST way to get ether. Get $10 worth of free ether when you buy $100 or more at Coinbase . This section will answer common questions about Ethereum pools. All of the pools are pretty good and ideally you will just want to choose one that is reliable, has low fees, and has a server near you. No, Ethereum mining pools and Bitcoin mining pools a Continue reading >>

Eth Mining Pool (2) - Crypto Mining Blog

All About BTC, LTC, ETH mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies WeiPool, One More New Mining Pool for Ethereum It seems that there is another new mining pool foe Ethereums Ether (ETH) coins that has just launched. The new pool is called Weipool and offers a simple web-based user interface for mining Ether coins with the help of ethminer, you can use our Quick Guide on How to Mine Ethereum on Windows , if you are still new to Ethereum. The new pool does not yet have a lot of miners and it is supposed to do payouts every 12 hours if your balance is more than 1 Ether, with 0.01 Ether tx fee and currently 0% pool fee for the first week (1.5% fee after that). Since it is a new pool it may take a while for miners to gather and for the first blocks to get solved, so be careful and do have in mind what happened with Pooleum a new Ethereum pool that seems to have completely disappeared now. The Weipool does have user controllable hashrate (difficulty) setting, so it should be suitable for miners with lower hashrate. ethminer -F -G The above command line is an example you can use to get started mining with ethminer at Weipool, you just need to replace the wallet address with your own Ethereum wallet and the default hashrate value of 20 (suitable for a single high-end GPU such as Radeon 280X) to the respective hashrate of your mining rig and you are ready to go. The above line is for mining using the OpenCL version of ethminer, for using the CUDA fork you need to replace the parameter -G with -U and you should be ready to go. Ethereumpool, Yet Another New Mining Pool for Ethereum There is yet another new mining pool for Ethereums Ether (ETH) coins that you can try, this is what seems to be the fourth one we know about and the third alternative to ethpool. Pool Discussion Ethereum Community Forum

Pool Discussion Ethereum Community Forum im making this post because as i was checking my worker in dwarfpool i realized that there is a inconsistency with the quantity of submits and amounts that i received each hour as you can see in the picture, sometimes i have a final submits that represent a final amount, and some other times i send a bigger quantity of submits but with less amount as reward than the previous sended submits. Is this a normal behavior? is a dwarfpool issue? Can someone help me out with dual mining ETH+DCR? I have been dual mining ETH+PASCAL since day one. Now i want to change to ETH+DCR. I have a rig with 6x GTX 1070. Please any help with config and good pool for DCR? Also it's ok to use poloniex for my DCR wallet? I have used them for pascal. Hi everyone, we just started a new ethereum pool with extremely low rates of 0.9% and a minimum payout of only .15 ETH! Check us out at Justkeepmining.com . If you're new to mining or want an easy start, then look at the help page and download an EZ Miner from EZMiner, all you have to do is paste you ETH address into the popup and click start and it will connect you to the pool and everything! Ethereum Byzantium Hard Fork: So Far So Good, So What?

Ethereum Byzantium Hard Fork: So Far So Good, So What?

Ethereum Byzantium hard fork: So far so good, so what? The Ethereum network completed the planned hard fork, Byzantium, at block number 4,370,000 at 05.22 UTC. What changes did Byzantium bring to Ethereum? Byzantium, the fifth hard fork on Ethereum network so far, is a change to the protocol with new rules which improve the system. For instance, the fork brought increased block mining speed (estimated to be ~14.1 sec in the end) which means lower transaction times for Ethereum users. Before Byzantium, the block generation speed was ~30 secs. Thus the decrease will be almost 50%. It remains to be seen, how much this can affect the actual transaction verification times. Byzantium also decreased the reward to miners, which was 5 Eth per block before the hard fork. The mining reward from is now 3 Eth per mined block, meaning a 40% revenue decrease for miners. At the time of writing this article, the block times were well below the 20s , while the difficulty has fallen almost 50% from 3,000T to 1,634T. All Ethereum clients needed to upgrade, otherwise, they would be stuck on an incompatible chain following the old rules. At the time of writing, mining on the old chain has ceased. The developers celebrated as everything went smoothly. Hard fork celebration! pic.twitter.com/mL1ZyJOYeA Vitalik "No I'm not giving away ETH" Buterin (@VitalikButerin) October 16, 2017 The fork of the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap also means that there is now a 'hard' EOL limit for mining GPUs with 3GB . These GPUs will stop mining Eth next year. Continue reading >>

Which Ethereum Pool?

Which Ethereum Pool?

Discussion in ' Ethereum ' started by themonkii , Aug 28, 2017 . Just curious which pool everyone is using? I have been, and continue to use Nanopool. I've been using ethermine. Is nanopool better? I've been using ethermine. Is nanopool better? I've never used ethermine, so hard for me to comment. Was wondering if there was anything better than Nanopool myself, tbh I use Nanopool when i am on ETH, i actually farm some more SIGT before block halving and expect a rice later. At my think Nanopool / Ethermine is same deal. I have a big doubt on suprnova pool for all coin, i have a bad feeling with this pool dunno why ... I prefer Nanopool because they show your hashrate way better than Ethermine, but Nanopool has no chart for your payouts which I would appreciate to look at. Im on ethermine, need to look at Nanopool. What do you think about Suprnova. I see a lot people not happy with them... I prefer Nanopool because they show your hashrate way better than Ethermine, but Nanopool has no chart for your payouts which I would appreciate to look at. There is a payments tab on nanopool; you can see your whole history there. Yes there's a payment tab but there's no graphical chart like on Ethermine. I use nanopool for both ETH and ETC. It always works fine, it has no downtimes and two European servers. All this with a 1% fee, what else do I need ?? using nano and waiting for eth price dumping to buy some more. I used ethermine.org, because minimal pay is 0,10 eth and after send the poloneix.com I have been using Nanopool since I started mining and have had great experience with it, I like being able to see my payout history and also like the notification I get almost immediately if I have any power outage or anything happens at home that causes my rigs to shut down. So minimum is reached If you're just mining to your own wallet (as I'm guessing you'd have set for your pool's address), the ether should already be accessible without enabling payouts (thus saving you transaction fees). If you want to use the payout module, suggests you need to set the RESOLVE_PAYOUT environment variable. You should also check your configuration file; I believe you need to have the unlocker module enabled, in addition to the payouts module. Lastly, you might want to check on a site like that you actually mined the blocks your pool says you mined. ... okay, lastly-lastly, make sure your miners are being credited for work done; you can do this via the GUI and/or via redis. Mining Pool - Wikipedia

Mining Pool - Wikipedia

This article needs additional citations for verification . Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources . Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. ( Learn how and when to remove this template message ) In the context of cryptocurrency mining , a mining pool is the pooling of resources by miners, who share their processing power over a network, to split the reward equally, according to the amount of work they contributed to solving a block . A "share" is awarded to members of the mining pool who present a valid proof-of-work that their miner solved. Mining in pools began when the difficulty for mining increased to the point where it could take years for slower miners to generate a block. The solution to this problem was for miners to pool their resources so they could generate blocks more quickly and therefore receive a portion of the block reward on a consistent basis, rather than randomly once every few years. [1] [2] [3] Mining pools may contain hundreds or thousands of miners using specialized protocols. [4] In all these schemes stands for a block reward minus pool fee and is a probability of finding a block in a share attempt ( is current block difficulty). A pool can support "variable share difficulty" feature, which means that a miner can select the share target (the lower bound of share difficulty) on his own and change The Pay-per-Share (PPS) approach offers an instant, guaranteed payout for each share that is solved by a miner. Miners are paid out from the pool's existing balance and can withdraw their payout immediately. This model allows for the least possible variance in payment for miners while also transferring much of the risk to the pool's operator. Each share costs exactly the expected value of each hash attempt Min Continue reading >>
