I am getting emails that are official Bitcoin emails. I keep blocking the domain but they keep coming through no matter what I do I have reported it and everyday I get 5 of them. I am not subscribe or have a bit coin wallet I have never heard of them and I am not with them. The emails have my full name and email address how have they got them I never click on anything in these emails. They would've got your name/email address from buying contact information from somebody else who you signed up for emails with. Sounds like really persistent spam. I had some similar to that and tried to block them with the same result. Try unblocking the domain and instead making a rule to automatically send it to your spam folder. That worked for me. The reasoning behind it working in my case is I believe the spammers' system detected the blocked address and auto-switched it to something else. If it thanks the emails are getting through, there would be no reason to switch it. How do I make a rule I am using windows live mail aswell as gmail? Theyre all connected to Bitcoin and say things like: Congrats, youve won a free bitcoin system and a link, which I havent followed. I receive around two texts a day and cant block them because theyre not sent from a phone number. What can I do? Pilar, London The recent Bitcoin boom seems to have given rise to some pretty lame attempts to try and trick us, and this is likely to be a phishing attempt. While everyone gets the odd PPI call or message, the rate at which you seem to be receiving these texts is concerning, and youre certainly not alone. In your longer letter you said youre an iPhone user on Three. I went to Three, and their advice was to forward the texts on to their free number (37726) and to report the messages to the company thats sending them not much use when the texts are from senders with names like Bitcoin and Big Winner. Examples of the spam texts Pilar was receiving (Photo: Reader supplied) I also went to the Information Commissioners Office, which is in charge of electronic communications in the UK, and they merely directed me to their existing information about spam texts, which suggests forwarding texts to their own number (7726) or reporting them through its website . This is worth doing, but is unlikely to put a swift end to the spam. Can my daughters download apps without accessing my emails? Your best bet is to block pesky messages is by opening Settings > Messages > Message Filtering > toggle on Filter Unknown Senders though this only Continue reading >>

How To Stop Spam Emails From Reaching Your Inbox

How To Stop Spam Emails From Reaching Your Inbox

How to stop spam emails from reaching your inbox Spamphishing, marketing, and scam emailsis annoying, that we can all agree on. One Macworld reader wants to take the ultimate step is stopping these emails. Is it possible to set ones iMac, MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad to ensure scam, phishing, and marketing emails are blocked? Id be grateful for any information you can provide. Would it were so! Would it were so. Unfortunately, the basis of internet email is that every part of the system more or less mostly trusts every other part. It used to be that every part completely trusted every other part. Thats one problem, because since server and messages are mostly trusted, scammers, spammers, and aggressive legitimate marketers cant simply be blocked before the message lands at your email host, the site at which email is accepted for your address. Another is that return addresses can be forgedat least some of the timebecause theres no verification system that ensures an email you receive was sent from the address shown to have sent it. (There are ways for owners of domains and operators of mail servers to specify and validate the only legitimate servers that a return address comes from, but theyre not universally deployed nor perfect.) And even if there were a way to prevent malicious and criminal parties from being able to send email from accounts under their control, an unknown, very large number of computers and email accounts have been hijacked or can be on a moments notice, sending scams through addresses that otherwise have only carried legitimate email until that point. However, you can take steps that will help mitigate it, if you arent already. Enable any spam-filtering options available. Apple automatically performs some blocking and filtering for iCloud. Some hos Continue reading >>

Darkweb Bitcoin Email Spam

Darkweb Bitcoin Email Spam

Darkweb criminals are becoming increasingly intelligent in tricking people into giving them money. Most people have dealt with email spam at some point before. It currently constitutes for a large proportion of daily global emails. Very few people however, understand where their email addresses have been picked up from and given to the hands of a spammer. The emails can be so convincing that simply by opening one, they force the user to unknowingly download malware or be subject of ransomware or banking trojan. What Is Spam Email? Discover How To Stop It - Bt

Email is fantastic - an easy and very cheap way to get in touch with family and friends around the world and quickly share videos and photos. But it comes with some rather less fun and useful elements one of them being spam. Spam is digital junk mail, comprising emails that you didnt want or ask to receive, such as adverts for online chemists and dating sites. The Oxford Dictionary definition of spam is: Irrelevantorunsolicitedmessagessent over the Internet, typically to large numbers of users, for the purposes of advertising, phishing, spreadingmalware, etc. Sometimes details are added to a mailing list that might then be sold to scammers, although most reputable companies dont sell their marketing lists. Scammers sometimes guess email address and will send a blanket email to similar address, for example: [email protected], [email protected] and so on. A marketing email you get from a reputable company - like a retailer - isn't spam. It's legitimate marketing info, so your email spam filters usually won't mark it as spam. If you don't want to receive it look for an 'unsubscribe' option. Top tips to protected yourself from spam email 1: Never reply to a spam email. 5 Ways To Stop Spam From Invading Your Email

5 ways to stop spam from invading your email We're all sick of Nigerian scams, pseudo-sexy invitations, and click-for-malware buttons. Frank Miller (and no, I dont know if hes that Frank Miller ) asked if there was a way to stop or reduce the spam mail that I receive? Short of cutting yourself off from the Internet, theres no way to eliminate spam entirely. The best you can do is filter out most of it, and even that has some unfortunate consequences. Your email client (the local program or cloud-based service you use to access and send email) almost certainly filters spam, moving suspicious messages to a separate folder. But its not perfect. Some spam tricks the filter and ends up in your inbox. And some legitimate messages, called false positives, end up in the spam folder. While we cant remove these errors entirely, we can reduce them. [Have a tech question? Ask PCWorld Contributing Editor Lincoln Spector. Send your query to [email protected] .] When you find spam in your inbox, dont just delete it. Select it, and tell your mail client that this particular message is spam. How you do this depends on your client. For instance, if youre using Gmails website, click the Report spam button in the toolbar (the icon looks like an exclamation point inside a stop sign). You also need to train the client about your false positives. Once a day, go through your spam folder looking for messages that dont belong there. When you find one, select it and tell the client that it made a mistake. In Gmail, you click the Not spam button. If your mail client is halfway decent, it will learn from these mistakesbut only if you train it. If you recognize something as spam before you open it, dont open it. If you open it and then realize its spam, close it. Do not click a link or a button, o Continue reading >>

I know as I did this.once. I never use bitcoin and I had one appear, I clicked unsubscribe before deciding to check their email address. It read [emailprotected] These emails keep appearing in my junk folder and I just keep reporting them. Each email they send use a different address. Youve been had, my friend. They scammers use an automated email that changes each time the timed sender emails them out. Just keep them in the junk folder. Eventually theyll close down their scam and move on. Ive never subscribed 2 them I keep unsubscribing 2 them but the fuckers keep sending me shite fuck them I have never bought bitcoin but I get so many emails. It seems impossible to stop them. I have clicked on the link to unsubscribe, I dont remember ever subscribing, and Im sent to an inspirational quote site. Id like it if bitcoin stops sending me emails and also the abusive phone calls. Sorry to hear of your troubles. It would help a lot if you named the actual companies involved. You certainly could not have conducted business with Bitcoin itself, as its not a company which does business with the public but rather an open source software project and network. Have you contacted the company and gotten any explanation for the delay? If the company is based in your country, it might be worth asking about them in the Philippino section of BitcoinTalk.
