Objective C - Retrieving All User Wallets Through Coinbase Ios Sdk - Stack Overflow

Retrieving All User Wallets through Coinbase iOS SDK I've recently been experimenting with the Coinbase iOS SDK and I've been having issues retrieving a user's Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash balances and historic transactions. Currently, I've only managed to do this with Bitcoin, USD and EUR, which seems to be consistent with the behaviour of the demo app supplied by Coinbase. I have configured an application on the Coinbase API Access page using OAuth2 and the generated client ID and secret are being used within the app. The issue seems to stem from the fact that I modified the Coinbase iOS SDK to allow me to pass the account parameter as all. This, I had hoped, would allow me to view details of all user accounts (ETH, BTC, LTC etc.) however, I only get BTC, USD and EUR when calling getAccountsList on the Coinbase object. NSString *accessToken = [response objectForKey:@"access_token"];Coinbase *client = [Coinbase coinbaseWithOAuthAccessToken:accessToken];[client getAccountsList:^(NSArray *accounts, CoinbasePagingHelper *paging, NSError *error) { for (CoinbaseAccount *account in accounts) { // Only BTC, USD and EUR are in the accounts array at this point. }}]; This is surprising as the permissions request page correctly asks the user for all wallets, as you can see in the screenshot below: I suspect a solution to this would be to use API keys, as you are able to specify exactly which accounts to grant access to. I plan to distribute the app however, so this technique should not be used. Here is an example of the URL I am sending: Does anyone know how I can request access to all of a users accounts using OAuth and be able to retrieve details for each? Is the scope I defined incorrect in some way? The only alternative I can think of would be to request access one by Continue reading >>

Go Ethereum Library Now Available For Android And Ios

Go Ethereum Library Now Available For Android And Ios

Go Ethereum Library Now Available For Android And iOS Go Ethereum is now easier to integrate with mobile platforms. It's currently available as a library for iOS and Android. Go Ethereum is an Ethereum client that allows you to interact with the blockchain. Its one of the more tangible aspects of Ethereum, as it allows you to actually call functions on smart contracts. An important issue to address before seeing a wider implementation of blockchain technology is accessibility. Go-Ethereum seeks to tackle this problem through allowing their code to be offered as a library for mobile platforms. Go-Ethereum is available for both iOS and Android developers, at the CocoaPods and Maven Central repositories, respectively. The mobile wrappers for their Go libraries will focus on four main usage areas: Simplified client side account management Remote node interfacing via different transports Contract interactions through auto-generated bindings In-process Ethereum, Whisper and Swarm peer-to-peer node If youre a developer working on a Dapp, itll be that much easier to integrate your project with mobile platforms. This would allow a user-friendly app to utilize Ethereums blockchain to store data or run smart contracts. Ethereum is positioned to be a supporting pillar of Web 3.0, and easily integrating it into mobile apps is a big step for the widespread adoption of blockchain technology. Pter Szilgyi, a core developer at Ethereum, shared this information in a reddit post, and added: The API is still a work in progress, especially on iOS as that platform needs further code-generator fixes in the upstream gomobile project. The above link contains a small introduction and a guide on how you can include go-ethereum in your Android/iOS project either via a package manager (Maven/Cocoa Continue reading >>

Integrating Coinbase Connect With Mobile

Integrating Coinbase Connect With Mobile

Adding digital currency to your mobile apps has never been easier or more powerful. The Coinbase SDK lets your apps users tap into their Coinbase wallets in seconds. When developing mobile applications, consider specifying the following settings. Implemented correctly, these tools can improve the user experience by reducing friction in OAuth flow. For mobile or desktop applications, you may not have a redirect URI. For these cases you can set the redirect_uri to a special value when registering a new OAuth2 application: urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob. This value tells our servers to render a blank page with the authorization code in the URL and title of the page, which can be parsed by your application. This method uses the same pattern that Google follows in their documentation. Heres a great guide with sample code for both iOS and Android. Both sign up and login within the OAuth2 flow requires the user to verify her device and/or email by opening a link that Coinbase sends in a verification email. To make it easier to guide the user back to the native mobile application, a special verifications deeplink can be specified as part of your OAuth applications advanced settings. This link will be opened automatically on successful verification, achieving a seamless transition. Continue reading >>

Similarly to our reusable Go libraries, the mobile wrappers also focus on four main usage areas: Simplified client side account management Remote node interfacing via different transports Contract interactions through auto-generated bindings In-process Ethereum, Whisper and Swarm peer-to-peer node You can watch a quick overview about these in Peter's (@karalabe) talk titled "Import Geth: Ethereum from Go and beyond", presented at the Ethereum Devcon2 developer conference in September, 2016 (Shanghai). Slides are available here . The go-ethereum mobile library is distributed either as an Android .aar archive (containing binaries for arm-7, arm64, x86 and x64); or as an iOS XCode framework (containing binaries for arm-7, arm64 and x86). We do not provide library bundles for Windows phone the moment. The simplest way to use go-ethereum in your Android project is through a Maven dependency. We provide bundles of all our stable releases (starting from v1.5.0) through Maven Central, and also provide the latest develop bundle through the Sonatype OSS repository. To add an Android dependency to the stable library release of go-ethereum, you'll need to ensure that the Maven Central repository is enabled in your Android project, and that the go-ethereum code is listed as a required dependency of your application. You can do both of these by editing the build.gradle script in your Android app's folder: repositories { mavenCentral()}dependencies { // All your previous dependencies compile 'org.ethereum:geth:1.5.2' // Change the version to the latest release} To add an Android dependency to the current develop version of go-ethereum, you'll need to ensure that the Sonatype snapshot repository is enabled in your Android project, and that the go-ethereum code is listed as a required Continue reading >>

Is Apple Banning Ethereum Wallets On Ios?

Is Apple Banning Ethereum Wallets on iOS? Ethereum and its native currency ether have received the lions share of hype and media attention these days. But could Apple iOSpolicy be a stumbling block to mass acceptance? Also read: Dubai to Host Upcoming Blockchain Technology Conference One developer, who wished to remain anonymous, said Apple had told her unofficially that ether (ETH) was not an approved virtual currency under Apples guidelines and thus no apps that facilitated transmission of ETH between parties could be green-lighted for the iOS App Store at this time. This would apply only to wallets and games that could send/receive ETH. There are several other apps that track ETH price or the Ethereum blockchain, such as Ether Portfolio and Ethereum Stats . Apple does not publish a list of approved currencies. However, the only cryptocurrencies with wallets currently available in the iOS App Store are Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin. Developers of the Jaxx Bitcoin/Ethereum wallet , which has been available on other desktop/mobile platforms since February, declined to comment on Apples policies. Jaxxs homepage , however, still shows an iOS version in beta testing and scheduled for imminent release. At press time, Apple PR had not responded to Bitcoin.coms email or phone requests for further clarification. Apple is notoriously secretive about its intentions and reasoning behind policies, and generally does not provide information on specific cases or examples. Nor does it allow registered developers to reveal any information on said policies, and could potentially revoke developer credentials if this happened. Regarding cryptocurrency wallets, however, Section 11.17 of Apples App Store Review Guidelines states: Apps may facilitate transmission of approved virtual curre Continue reading >>

The iOS team here at Mercury Protocol is very happy to announce that we have open sourced the framework web3.swift . Mercurys web3.swift provides native iOS developers an API to encode and sign transactions client side. This gives clients the choice to send to the blockchain directly or send it elsewhere to avoid mobile devices acting as Ethereum peers. Mercurys web3.swift library gives the blockchain community and app developers an easier way to use Swift for Ethereum: Account Management, Transaction Encoding, and Signing. This library is similar to web3.js for Web and web3j for Java and Android. Ethereum On A Iphone Decentralize Today

Ethereum On A Iphone Decentralize Today

Getting started with Ethereum apps on iOS There is no installation package, build by the Ethereum community, ready for the iOS. But in a way it is possible to build something. Let us start with the Ethereum client architecture to see what we have. Ethereum is an example of a very fast growing blockchain implementation. Actually, Ethereum has surpassed Bitcoin in amount of nodes in the public network, at this writing moment, see the current number of nodes . Ethereum is a cryptocurrency. Ether is the currency. Ethereum was created as a clone of the Bitcoin core, having its own blockchain network - a public, distributed ledger. The Ethereum network is called P2P Wire Protocol Network. The most exceptional: Ethereum has a whole programing platform on top of its cryptocurrency, implemented in every client. The programs are called DApps, Decentralized Applications. People are doing things in Ethereum that are not possible right now in Bitcoin. It has created a new generation of developers which never worked with Bitcoin but are interested in Ethereum. See story from Coinbase . What is very real, though, is the possibility that Ethereum blows past Bitcoin entirely. See r3cev.com/blog/2016/5/29 Every node in the network is called a Ethereum Client and it has nothing to do with a client-server architecture. There are only clients nodes in the Ethereum network. Where the Bitcoin blockchain distinguish between a full-node, having a full copy of all transactions, and a lightweight node, having only what is needed for a wallet, the Ethereum has only full-nodes. But there is being working on a lightweight node, see what-should-i-install-on-a-mobile-tablet . Meaning, we must wait on the official Light Client for the mobile devices. While we are waiting on a lightweight solution for Continue reading >>

Web3js - How Can Dapps Work On Smartphones? - Ethereum Stack Exchange

How can dapps on mobile web browsers interact with web3.js? Is there any tool like Metamask or Mist on the roadmap for mobile? Status is a good start to develop a Ethereum mobile dapp. Status is an open source messaging platform and mobile browser to interact with decentralized applications that run on the Ethereum Network. Decentralized Apps at your fingertips: With Status your mobile device becomes a light client node on the Ethereum Network, enabling you to access Ethereums entire ecosystem from anywhere. Smarter private messaging: Status is more than a messenger. Send payments and smart contracts to friends from within chats, and enjoy encrypted messaging by default, using a peer-to-peer protocol that doesnt rely on centralized servers. Status app (Ethereum Mobile gateway) is currently in alpha and can be tested on Android and iPhone. Please find below a quick tutorial how to deploy a dapp on Status.Let's imagine you have a dapp (ReactNative, Ionic, ...) running on {DAPP_URL} Download Status on your phone and configure an account Install status-dev-cli npm i -g status-dev-cli In status console, enter /debug. That will give you your device IP address {DEVICE_IP} From your machine, make sure you can see you device and status: status-dev-cli scan (status must be running) Last step, consist in registering the dapp in status: status-dev-cli add "{\"whisper-identity\": \"my-dapp\", \"dapp-url\": \"{DAPP_URL}\", \"name\": \"MyDAPP\"}" --ip {DEVICE_IP} You can now refresh you status app and you will see appear MyDapp in the list. The browser will launch you dapp and it can interact (web3) with the Ethereum blockchain and smart contracts. By default, status run on the testnet network. Ethereum Falls After Rumors Of A Powerful Mining Chip Surface

Ethereum Falls After Rumors Of A Powerful Mining Chip Surface

Rumors of a new ASIC mining rig from Bitmain have driven Ethereum prices well below their one-week high of $585. An ASIC or Application-specific integrated circuit in the cryptocurrency world is a chip that designers create for the specific purpose of mining a single currency. Early Bitcoin ASICs, for example, drove adoption up and then, in some eyes, centralized Bitcoin mining in a few hands, thereby thwarting the decentralized ethos of die-hard cryptocurrency fans. According to a CNBC report, analyst Christopher Rolland visited China where heunearthed rumors of a new ASIC chip dedicated to Ethereum mining. During our travels through Asia last week, we confirmed that Bitmain has already developed an ASIC [application-specific integrated circuit] for mining Ethereum, and is readying the supply chain for shipments in 2Q18, analyst Christopher Rolland wrote in a note to clients Monday. While Bitmain is likely to be the largest ASIC vendor (currently 70-80% of Bitcoin mining ASICs) and the first to market with this product, we have learned of at least three other companies working on Ethereum ASICs, all at various stages of development. Historically users have mined Ethereum using GPUs which, in turn, led to the unavailability of GPUs for gaming and graphics. However, an ASIC would change the mining equation entirely, resulting in a certain amount of centralization as big players including Bitmain created higher barrier to entry for casual miners. Ethereum is of the most profitable coins available for GPU mining, said Mikhail Avady, founder of TryMining.com . Its going to affect a lot of the market. Without understanding the hash power of these Bitmain machines we cant tell if it will make GPUs obsolete or not. It can be seen as an attack on the network. Its a centralizat Continue reading >>

Mobile Wallet - Ethereum Library For Ios/android? - Ethereum Stack Exchange

Are there any existing native libraries (not whole wallets, I do not need a UI but want to sign transactions and call smart contract functions embedded in another app) for iOS or Android? If not, are there efforts currently ongoing or what is the closest I could get right now? Related: ethereum.stackexchange.com/q/7351/2460 galahad Dec 19 '16 at 4:47 Did you manage to make an iOs or Android app that interact with ethereum? Mago Nicolas Palacios Sep 24 '17 at 23:10 There are some guys who are running geth on Android and iOS. you could find the libs and the apk project. But seriously, you need to wait the light protocol client because it is a bit insane to use a full client (Many Go of storage + so many writes that it will use battery and storage longevity). Ethereum on Android: LES (Light client protocol): the gitter with the geth devs The geth with LES is in test currently. I have made few benchmarks: 600MB disk storage (4GB of write) vs 4.8GB for fast synch 20min to synchronize vs 21min for fast synch There is Nethereum which is a .Net client for Ethereum. You can use Xamarin (comes free with VS now) to build Android, iOS and Windows apps through the .Net framework. (Note: I haven't done any mobile development for a while, and certainly none related to Ethereum. The below answer therefore includes a level of conjecture. I don't know of any existing efforts.) Android apps are (most often) written in Java, so it's plausible that the relevant parts of EthereumJ could be ported with relatively little pain. It's also been possible to write Android apps in Go since (Go) version 1.4 , though I'm unsure how well supported this is. It does, however, raise the possibility of a Geth port, or partial port. Similarly, looking at Go's available mobile packages , it looks like iOS s Continue reading >>
