The most important part of your mining RIG. What should i use? Again there are many different options and most of them work but i will list a few of the best ones. All prices are based on what I found on the big selling websites. It might differ but not by a lot so please don't get upset if it turns out more as prices change. Operating system - (Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 ,Ubuntu) CPU - Intel Celeron G1840 (40$) - Not much of a power is needed from the Cpu for mining. Every 40-50$ CPU will do just fine. Mobo - AsRock H81 Pro Btc (60$) - The king of mining supports 6 GPUs and is cheap. Look for how many GPUs a motherboard supports. Best motherboards PSU - Depends on how many cards and which cards you use. Avarage ( 3x GPU = 850W PSU, 6x GPU = 2x 750w PSU) (70-180$) EASIEST WAY to know how much PSU you need is to just calculate your WATT usage. ( 6x280x = around 1000 watts and CPU,motherboard 120Watts. Soo you need 1120 PSU ( 2x750.)) Molex connectors,Ribbon raisers, Usb 3.0 power supply cables ( 5-12$) - Totally your choice. GPU - The hardest and most important choice! Next section will be all about GPUs IMPORTANT! Don't forget motherboard, ram, ssd,CPU also need power, when calculating WATTage and PSU power always add an extra 120Watts for these components. These graphic cards are too old now. I'm to lazy to update everything. The guide works great and everything is still the same in mining only newer GPUs are used. and the rx 5xx series which is almost the same as the rx 4xx series. NVidia cards have also become more useful for mining with recent updates to mining software, and ability to lower their power consumption. Combined with the fact that the Radeon cards are often out of stock, or have a marked up price, the GTX series NVidia cards can be just as profit Continue reading >>

Quote from: monochrome83 on December 23, 2017, 07:53:52 AM Just wanted to stop by, and say thank you for this, I'm sure this has helped a lot of people. Just had a quick question about speed. Samsung Ultrabook, Windows 10, and supposedly in fast mode, and I'm getting around 20 h/s. From what I'm reading, this is nowhere near speeds others are getting. Is there anything you can suggest to get a bit more umph out of this thing?? Besides power cycling regularly, and trying to shut down programs in the background, I'm out of ideas. Thanks in advance for any and all help What exact CPU installed in your notebook? Such speed is possible with ULV processors Intel i5, 3rd Gen, states 1.7ghz, with "Turbo Boost" to 2.6ghz. Ethereum Mining Everything You Need To Know

Ethereum Mining Everything You Need To Know

Ethereum Mining Everything You Need To Know As newcomers continue to scramble for their share of the crypto pie, Ethereum promises to be one of the most profitable coins to own. Theres a lot of good reasons too. For starters, its not only a currency but a decentralised platform for smart contract apps in theory, a way for apps to run without downtime, fraud or third party interference. Its also backed by an incredibly skilled group of developers, including Russian programmer and ETH creator Vitalik Buterin, whose vision was a censorship-proof planetary scale computer. Because the Ethereum blockchain focuses on running programming code, as opposed to Bitcoins specific use as a P2P digital currency, Ethereum miners work to earn Ether (ETH), a token used to fuel the Ethereum network. To put it simply, ETH is used to run apps and execute smart contracts. Also check our link: ETH is one of the most popular crypto, and looks to grow even more, as more developers and startups deploy apps and run smart contracts on Ethereum. It already is the largest altcoin in circulation, and has been moving up to Bitcoin in terms of market capitalisation. Price-wise, it is currently hovering around $250 and if it catches up to Bitcoins potential, theres no reason to doubt that it could match and even exceed Bitcoins value. From a profiteering perspective, you stand to gain much more from ETH in terms of percentage gains. Bitcoin mining difficulty has also reached ultra-high levels, with profitable mining only achievable using expensive, specialised equipment. ETH mining, however, is still relatively accessible to the home user and is quite easy to set up! You dont need to download the entire blockchain (currently over 20 GB!) and you dont even need to operate clumsy line miners manually. To Continue reading >>

Build Your Own Ethereum Mining Rig, Part 3: Windows Setup

Build Your Own Ethereum Mining Rig, Part 3: Windows Setup

April 11, 2017 CryptoBadger 272 Comments No doubt some of you saw the Ethereum mining guide for Linux that I published last week and balked at all of that command-line nonsense.Linux isnt everyones thing, and thats okif Windows is your OS of choice, then this guide is for you! While Linux offers some significantadvantages when it comes to GPU mining, Windows does have onepotentially important edge: undervolting your GPUs currently requires quite a bit less effort underWindows. If you want your mining rig to run at its maximum efficiency, youll want tokeep power consumption to a minimum, and with Linux that generally requires flashing a custom BIOS to each GPUwhereas in Windows you can usually accomplish this at the driver level with a simple software setting. The bad news is that if you want maximum performance out of your rig, youll probably eventually want to flash your GPU BIOS under either operating system, but well get into that in part 4 of this guide. But if you already know that overwriting your GPU BIOS with a custom replacement is outside of your comfort zone, then sticking with Windows will at least allow you to undervolt. So with all of that in mind, if Windows sounds like the best optionfor you, read on for our setup guide! Build an EthereumMining Rig, part 3: Windows Setup I wont go into quite the same excruciating levelof detail as I did with my Linux guide , as its probably a safe assumption that anyone reading a guide about building a custom cryptocurrency mining rig is already quite comfortable with basic Windows tasks. The steps outlined below should be more than adequate for the average Windows user, but feel free to leave comments if anything is unclear! Before we even get to Windows, make sure your mining computers BIOS settings are in order. Powe Continue reading >>

Evven when you follow a guide like our guide on How to Mine Ethereum on Windows yuo can get to another challenge like the mining pool refusing your connections. This has happened today with the ethpool stopping to accept new miners resulting in connections for users trying to use new wallet addresses getting refused while all older miners can still continue to use the pool. The problem here is that ethpool is still the only Ethereum mining pool, so now the only alternative for new users is to solo mine we have prepared a guide on getting started with Solo GPU Mining Ethereum on Windows . With solo mining however the risks are higher, but the rewards can also be higher if you turn up lucky, there is however no point in solo mining with CPU as the hashrate will be pretty low and you will need a lot of luck to hit a block. We have updated our mining package that includes the geth client for generating a local Ethereum wallet and also needed for solo mining to the latest version, it is compiled for 64-bit Windows. The package also includes two versions of ethminer (also 64-bit only), the standard one with CPU and OpenCL mining as a part of cpp-ethereum and a second one forked to support CUDA as well. Note that the CUDA version can be used to mine with the CPU, OpenCL and CUDA and you should be are able to use OpenCL on Nvidia GPUs as well. The CUDA miner should work on GPUs with Compute 2.0 or later, but if you are having trouble running the CUDA miner you can try with the Continue reading >>

Q: Can I mine with my CPU (Personal computersprocessor) instead ofan expensive graphics card (GPU)? A: GPUs are so much faster that CPU-mining is no longer profitable or worthwhile. Even entry-level GPUs are about 200 times faster than CPUs for mining purposes. Q: Whats the best GPU to use for getting the most ETH for the least electricity? A: AMD cards tend to edge out similarly-priced NVidia cards in terms of efficiency. We cover the best cards to get under the heading GPU Hardware further down in this post. Q: Continue reading >>

Quick And Dirty Ethereum Pool Mining Setup (claymoreminer + Nanopool) : Ethermining

I know there are other mining tutorials in the sidebar but one I found too complicated, and the other gave me poor results using their method (QTMiner + Alpereum). This is a quick and dirty guide to setting up mining on windows as fast as possible. To get some simple explanation out of the way, a wallet is where funds are store and sent to/from. A pool is a grouping of resources with other people to combine your mining power instead of solo mining, you then split the profits. The miner is a program but not one that you install, its typically a batch file that you run. Part 1: Generate a walletYoure going to have to choose how you want to receive your payouts. You can choose to go with a desktop wallet, but for this tutorial were going to go with an online wallet which is superior in my opinon but arguably at more risk. Because downloading the wallet and all the chain data takes around 40GB, we'll be using an online wallet. Go to and generate a wallet. First enter a passcode, then download your keystore file. Click continue and it will prompt you to download your paper wallet as a PDF. You can print this or save a PDF on your computer. Then click Save your Address. Youll have to unlock your wallet using the file you just downloaded and typing in your password. Once logged in, youll see a private key and public key. Keep your private key hidden, but save your public key because youre going to need it. Part 2: Choosing a poolFor this tutorial were going to be using Nanopool. You can visit to figure out which server is closest to you because youre going to need it. Part 3: Download Claymore.s.Dual.Ethereum.Decred_Siacoin_Lbry_Pascal.AMD.NVIDIA.GPU.Miner.v9.5.zip from this link and extract it If you're not seeing EthDcrMiner64.exe in your downloaded file, try this alternati Continue reading >>
