This is a story about curiosity and exploration. And how after countless evenings of debugging, tinkering and making mistakes (read: losing money) I ended up with a small piece of code that was moving serious money and pocketing a bit as well. Let me lead you down the rabbit hole of my creation: Agent Smith. [for the impatient, scroll down to "The Climax".] It all started on a rainy night in May of 2017 ( I was living in Galway, Ireland and it rains an awful lot in the west coast). Playing more and more with the cryptocurrency exchange Poloniex I started to worry about the execution price of doing trades on some markets because of illiquid orderbooks: When you have some Bitcoin and you want to trade them for Ether (two different cryptocurrencies) you can do that on Poloniex directly on their BTC/ETH market. If you want to trade instantly you will need to buy the Ether from someone who is currently offering to sell it (called an "ask offer"), the only alternative is creating your own offer to buy (a "bid offer") hoping that someone will sell them to you. Usually taking an ask offer is fine as there are a number of people currently willing to buy and sell (all publically visible in something called the "orderbook"). But in some scenarios of heavy price movements (like during a crash) I noticed that the prices being offered were terrible, there are moments when the cheapest way to buy Ether for Bitcoin on Poloniex is not buying directly on the ETH/BTC market but by taking a stranger path: Sell your Bitcoin into USDT and use those to buy th Continue reading >>

Bitcoin Arbitrage And Trade Bot Features | Haasonline.com

Trade Bots are Haasbots bread and butter bot type. Trade Bots trade based on the combination of indicators, safeties, and insurances that the user sets up. A basic trade bot works by determining if an indicator (or multiple indicators) signal a buy or sell signal. This signal is then cross-referenced with the current position (bought or sold) that the user is currently in.If the users position matches with the signal type, the trade bot will then evaluate the insurances. If an insurance matches the trade signal, such as the trade covering at least the fee costs, then it will then execute a trade on that particular exchange for the amount of coins or fiat to trade. In addition, the trade bot will also evaluate any safeties a user sets up. For instance, if a user sets a Dynamic Drop Safety, for a 1% drop over 2 hours, and the market suddenly drops by 1%, the bot will execute a sell to protect the users investment and to attempt to buy in lower. Haasbots Trade Bot supports both high frequency trading and trading on long term trend reversals. It is essentially up to the user to determine how they want to utilize the power of the trade bots features. The trade bots main trading engine relies on technical analysis indicators to provide buy and sell signals. These technical analysis indicators are specifically designed to operate in the extremely high volatile cryptocurrency markets. Each indicator can be configured to evaluate time periods from 1 minute to 3 days. For instance, a user can trade on the 3 day MACD, if they wish. Currently, the Trade Bot supports the following indicators: Price High/Low, Price Dynamic High/Low*, Price Change, Price Percentage Change, Stochastic Oscillator, Relative Strength Index (RSI), Stochastic Relative Strength Index (StochRSI)*, Simple Mov Continue reading >>

Building An Arbitrage Bot For Crypto Currencies On Binance Andkucoin

Building An Arbitrage Bot For Crypto Currencies On Binance Andkucoin

building an arbitrage bot for crypto currencies on binance andkucoin Today we will be making a simple arbitrage bot with python. Im using binance and kucoin because crypto only exchanges are easy to put money on and they support all the coins that are fast enough to take advantage of differences in the market. Q: But why would we need packages we can just use requests!? Heres the documentation python-kucoin , python-binance Youll need to navigate to settings and copy your api keys at this point here is our starter file. from binance.client import Client as BinanceClient Save this as testfile.py and run it with python3 testfile.py in your command line. you should see some pretty json print out that is the order books for BTC and ETH. Now BTC and ETH are not very good for arbitrage because bitcoin is a dinosaur coin and will take forever to transfer. So lets write a little script to identify the biggest difference in prices on the exchange and then make our decision for currencies to arb. from binance.client import Client as BinanceClient coins = client.get_trading_symbols() #get all the kucoin price prices = bclient.get_all_tickers() #get all the binance prices coinsymbol = coinsymbol.replace('-','') # we need to remove the dash so we can compare to binance kucoinDict[coinsymbol] = lastDeal #add to the dictionary to compare binance and kucoin diff = kucoinDict[bsymbol] - float(bprice) #find the biggest difference if bsymbol[-3:] == 'ETH': #only check things trading in eth diff = abs(diff) #change any negatives to posotive print(sorted(differenceDict.items(), key=lambda x: x[1])) # sort it and there we have it bcd-eth and dash-eth have the biggest differences for me at the moment. Next were going to move on to setting up a script that will run indefinitely buy any order Continue reading >>

How Profitable Is It To Create An Arbitrage Bot For Bitcoin Markets?

How Profitable Is It To Create An Arbitrage Bot For Bitcoin Markets?

Updated Jun 3, 2017 Author has 13.6k answers and 38.4m answer views Funny thing is that I make a fair amount of money trading bitcoin, but Ive never had time to write an arbitrage bot. The arbitrages change from day to day. For example, right now there is a nice arb between HK dollar exchanges in Hong Kong and Euro exchanges in Europe. That arb could be gone tomorrow, so if I spend two weeks writing a bot, Im wasting my time. Most of the really juicy arbitrages involve stuff that doesnt help with a bot. For example, three weeks ago there was a huge arb between Bitfinex and the rest of the world, but that arb was useless unless you had a Taiwan dollar account, so I immediately flew off to Taipei to set up a Taiwan dollar account. It turns out that this arb is now gone, but I made some money even with the plane tickets. Im looking at the numbers right now, and Im seriously thinking about whether I should fly off to Vietnam tomorrow. Most of my time involves getting myself registered onto new exchanges, dealing with calls from my bank wondering why Im sending money to weird places, and managing my holdings so that Im not doomed if an exchange gets hacked. Also you quickly learn all sorts of things about the bank wire and currency transfer restrictions of various places. Writing an arb bot is not particularly useful. Things change. Everything went crazy when Wells Fargo blocked bitfinex. Lots of people can write computer programs, and if the only thing that lets you take an arb is writing a bot, then the arb is likely to disappear in a few days. A fair amount of taking advantage of an arb involves literally getting on a plane and traveling somewhere. This works for me since I live in Hong Kong and I can travel to anywhere in East Asia for about USD 200. The stuff that I am Continue reading >>

How To Make Your Own Tradingbot

How To Make Your Own Tradingbot

Im certainly not a great programmer, but writing this project taught me a lot (and kept me occupied). Most of my code resembles spaghetti , and if I were to refactor the python code I would use a more object orientated model. Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised with the results I got and the bot has made almost 100% ether profit so far. You can watch the bot frequently trade at 0xff4482de17e729e19d75d70fc005f2e4ba75905f It is an arbitrage bot. That means that it earns money from trading the difference between prices on two (or more) exchanges. As of now it is unidirectional and only trades between Etherdelta and Bittrex: they share approximately twenty eth/token pairs. Heres a diagram to illustrate how it works: Words followed by parenthesis are ethereum transactions that invoke a smart contract function call. I could have used pipermerriams python web3 wrapper to create the transactions and function calls and it would have been fairly straightforward. I needed something more reliable; a failed transaction means losing money. Every single one my GET requests needed a reply, even if the TCP packet got lost or the webserver on the other end was temporarily down. Therefore I decided to implement my own python etherscan API wrapper and used pythereum to create the transactions and etherscan to publish them. I also wrote my own requests.get decorator that is a while loop that only exits once the reply is satisfactory. Here is the code I used to encode the etherdelta json API responses as hexadecimal, rlp encoded, ethereum transactions (not for the faint hearted): The raw hexadecimal values in the closure at the bottom are the function signatures that correspond to each function. A function signature is derived from the keccak of the function and its arguments. It must b Continue reading >>

Introducing Gimmers Automated Arbitrage Bots

Introducing Gimmers Automated Arbitrage Bots

Automated Crypto-Trading BOT Platform - The smart way to trade Cryptocurrencies. Project website: Introducing Gimmers Automated Arbitrage Bots Automated crypto-trading platform Gimmer seeks to take advantage of the crypto markets arbitrage opportunities by deploying advanced algorithmic bots for thetask. As per by Investopedias definition , arbitrage is the simultaneous purchase and sale of an asset to profit from a difference in the price. It is a trade that profits by exploiting the price differences of identical or similar financial instruments on different markets or in different forms. Arbitrage exists as a result of market inefficiencies. This is basically purchasing an asset in a market where the price is low and selling it on another market for a higher price in an attempt to generate profits from the trade. In the case of the crypto market, arbitrage can be best applied to buying a specific cryptocurrency from one exchange and selling it on another for a higher price. According to a Business Insider article (published on November 28, 2017), the crypto market is full of arbitrage opportunities. At the time, when the price of Bitcoin was at $9,748 at US exchanges, it was hitting on $10,026 on South Korean exchanges (a comparison of Kraken and CEX). This is a gap of $278, which is nearly a three percent spread, therefore, an ample arbitrage opportunity. This was not the only opportunities for arbitrage on the crypto market. Normally, on the forex market, for example, such price differences would be harvested by bots in a matter of a few minutes. However, as the crypto market is rather young, there is only a minimal number of arbitrage bots that can be applied to the cryptocurrency market. But not for long. Automated Arbitrage Bots on the Gimmerplatform As detaile Continue reading >>

Cryptocurrency exchanges are the convenient gateway to buying and selling bitcoin and other cryptos. As one would expect, these exchanges also create arbitrage opportunities. Taking advantage of these gaps between bitcoin prices can be quite difficult, especially when things need to be done manually. Thankfully, there are some bitcoin arbitrage bots which facilitate the process somewhat. The Crypto Arbitrage Trader bot should not be confused with C.A.T, which is a closed-source paid trading bot for cryptocurrency users. Crypto Arbitrage Traders source code can be found on GitHub . The project was initially announced in 2013 and includes support for Coins-E, BTC-E, and Vircurex. However, no major updates have occurred over the past four years, and some users complained there are a few bugs in the code. This particular bitcoin arbitrage bot can be used for different purposes, although it appears only one exchange is supported at this time. BTC-E is a somewhat popular trading platform, yet there is not always an arbitrage opportunity to take advantage of. tAPIbots source code is available on GitHub , thus allowing experienced users to implement support for other exchanges if they feel the need to do so. Bitcoin Dealer is another bitcoin arbitrage bot that can only be used for one particular exchange. In this case, that exchange is Bitstamp, which is far more popular compared to BTC-E. Bitcoin Dealer can be found on GitHub as well, although it appears the bot has not received any major developer updates for quite some time now. It is not hard to see the similarities between Bitcoin Arbitrage and Bitcoin Dealer. However, when it comes to exchanges, Bitcoin Arbitrage is more flexible, with support for Bitstamp, Paymium, and Coinbase. Using multiple exchanges increases the od Continue reading >>

I Built An Arbitrage System That Finds Arbitrage Opportunities Between Cryptocurrency Exchanges - Cryptocurrency

I built an arbitrage system that finds arbitrage opportunities between cryptocurrency exchanges It took me about 6 months of coding to get where I am now and I'm letting r/cryptocurrency try it out for free. This is literally the first time I am posting about it to see how people would react to such a system. Currently it is able to find arbitrage opportunities between Binance, Bittrex, Cryptopia, Bitfinex, YoBit, HitBTC, Kraken and Poloniex with many more to come. It is not like the average arbitrage bots you see mine works by calculating the profit you will make buying on one exchange and selling it on another. It is able to detect which exchanges are doing maintenance on wallets so you dont waste time with false arbitrage opps. It was able to find a 17% arbitrage opp on Game Credits and I was able to make 15% by purchasing it on Bittrex and selling it on Poloniex 2 days ago. It took me about 7 minutes transfer time. I was also able to buy Bitcoin Gold from Binance and transfer it to Bittrex and sell it for a 20% profit which took me around 30 minutes. My system is designed to eliminate trading risk by keeping your money out of the market as much as possibles. The purpose is to detect when there is a large price gap between exchanges and capitalize off of it which means get in and get out as fast a you can. The only risk becomes the time it takes to transfer from one exchange to another but the ERC20 tokens transfer pretty fast so it works well with most digital currencies. Also have to be aware of the volume in relation to how much you money you trade with. I would like to see how many people were able to successfully profit from arbitrage also who would be interested in such a system. Here is an image of how the system displays the arbitrage opps and the system can Continue reading >>

A Brief Look At Crypto Arbitrage Trading

A Brief Look At Crypto Arbitrage Trading

I am surprised that my introduction post was so well received. Thank you for having me! Someone asked for more details about the arbitrage trading that I do. So I will talk a little bit about arbitraging in this post - how you could do it, and what kind of risks you need to consider. I will assume that you are already familiar with the basics of crypto trading - exchanges, order books, volume, and stuff like that. "In economics and finance, arbitrage (...) is the practice of taking advantage of a price difference between two or more markets: striking a combination of matching deals that capitalize upon the imbalance, the profit being the difference between the market prices." The simplest form of arbitrage would be: when a particular coin is cheaper on exchange A than on exchange B, you buy on A, sell on B, and pocket the difference. Sounds easy enough, right? So why doesn't everybody and their grandma do it? Well, there are quite a number of pitfalls and risks that I would like to touch on in this post. To strike arbitrage deals, you will need to store coins on exchange sites. Sadly, there are many examples of bitcoin exchanges getting hacked, or running away with their customers' money. Some decentralized exchanges exist, such as Bitshares or the NXT asset exchange. Unfortunately, their volume is still quite low, and the non-realtime nature of decentralized systems may be a downside for arbitrage trading (see "Execution risk"). A good piece of advice to mitigate counterparty risk would be to increase the number of parties. As in, spread your coins on many different exchanges. The likelyhood of all of them getting hacked at the exact same time should be low. Execution risk stems from the possibility of having executed the trade on one side, but then not being able to Continue reading >>
