An Intro To Crypto Currency And 6 Investment Strategies

Co-Founder www.mude.agency | Reckless musings from a young entrepreneur passionate about innovation, lifestyle and change. An intro to crypto currency and 6 investment strategies So with the rapid growth rate and worldwide attention that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have been receiving lately, I thought it would be a good idea to share what ive learnt and some of the strategies ive been using to make the most of this opportunity. Many argue that treating bitcoin and cryptos as an investment like a stock goes against the very purpose of their existence to be used as an actual currency. Opportunities on this scale only seem to come about when the world is going through mass technological change. Yes, im likening bitcoin to the dot-com era and the thousands who made bank because they chose to become early adopters of the technology. They saw opportunity and took a risk which paid off immensely once the rest of the world got over their prejudice and realised the value. I truly believe that blockchain and digital currencies will overtake the traditional currency systems we have today as theyre better in almost every conceivable way. The volatility is what makes many people hesitant but there is no such thing as a perfect investment. Cryptos are still in their very early stages and the fact that every exchange acts independently with no central body determining the price can cause a lot of fluctuation in the prices. If you analyse any currency system, youll realise that its peoples belief in the system which gives it value and lets you exchange pieces of paper and numbers on a screen for physical goods. A lot of misinformation and BS in the media causes people to question the viability of cryptocurrency and makes it even more volatile. Theres always going to be risk but look Continue reading >>

Run make in the root directory of the repository to convert thesource files into rendered versions of all supported formats. Please note that for now, producing a better book is the primary goal. All other things being equal, an easier to build book is better than aharder to build book, but, for example, a better illustration thatrelies on a new tool is better than a worse illustration. The easiest way to get this on OS X is to install Emacs via Homebrew or by downloading it from Emacs For Mac OS X . Keep in mind that the Makefile will build using whatever emacs isin your current environment. Notably, if you're on OS X and usingEmacs for Mac OS X, there's a decent chance that emacs in yourshell environment will actually refer to the massively ancient versionthat came shipped with your OS. You will need a recent release of org-mode . If you install it through ELPA (Emacs 24's default package repository when you dolist-packages and install things), it should be foundautomagically. You can override the location of your org-modeinstallation by setting the ORG_DIR environment variable. You will need TeX Live with a great many installed packages. Youwill also need latexmk and xetex, which come with TeX Live.Any effort to make this list more precise is greatly appreciated. Can You Explain Cryptocurrencies To A 6-year-old?

Can You Explain Cryptocurrencies To A 6-year-old?

Can You Explain Cryptocurrencies To A 6-Year-Old? Don't get technical and talk about the benefits One of the biggest challenges of introducing cryptocurrencies to friends and family is that they might not get it the first or second time that you try to explain it. Its like they speak an entirely different language. They may dislike their bank, but see it as a necessary evil for participating in everyday transactions. They may not get the global economys economic and technical inefficiencies that cryptocurrencies can solve. If you want to explain cryptocurrencies to someone who hasnt gotten it yet, not only do you have to explain it in terms of how they can benefit from cryptocurrencies, but you also have to be able to explain it in terms that a 6-year-old can understand. The difficulty in explaining cryptocurrencies to family does not necessarily mean theyre unintelligent. It just means that it might have been a while since they took that economics elective in college or they slept through it because they didnt think it would ever be useful and they only needed a C to pass. Instead of being condescending, you may need to remind them of basic economic principles when discussing cryptocurrencies. Analogies may help explain some of the concepts behind Bitcoin. Western Union often acts like the postal system of payments, in which it can take up to a week to get your package unless you want to pay extra for overnight shipping and thats true even if you arent sending your packages (or your payments) internationally. You may remember that issues from a couple of Christmases ago in which UPS failed to deliver some packages on time because so many people were buying last-minute Christmas presents. This is what happens when UPS trucks are constantly full and drivers are overwhel Continue reading >>

Thiel Fellow, Harvard dropout. Making content creation profitable x blockchain @ StreamToken.net Ever since Nas Dailys video came out about how I earned over $400,000 with less than $10,000 investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum, Ive been getting hundreds of questions from people around the world about how to get started with cryptocurrency investment. First: Im super glad theres so much interest in cryptocurrency right now. I firmly do believe that cryptocurrency and blockchain technology has the potential to fundamentally change much of the way our world currently operates for the better. It reminds me a lot of the internet in the 90s . Second: Investment in cryptocurrency isnt something to be taken lightly. Its extremely risky, extremely speculative, and extremely early stage still at this point in time. Countless speculators and day traders have lost their entire fortunes trading cryptocurrency. I was no different when I first started investing in crypto. The first $5000 I put into crypto fell almost immediately to less than $500 a net loss of over 90%. Third: All of the following words are entirely and solely my own opinion, and do not reflect any objective truth in the world or the opinions or perspective of any other individual or entity. I write them here merely so people can know how I personally approach cryptocurrency, and what I have personally found helpful in my foray into this realm. Im firmly of the opinion that one should never invest in something one doesnt thoroughly understand, so Im going to split this article into three parts. The first part will speak to a broad explanation of what bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large are. The second will discuss my personal investment philosophy as it pertains to crypto. The third will show you step by step how to act Continue reading >>

Crypto Trading 101: A Beginners Guide To Candlesticks

Crypto Trading 101: A Beginners Guide To Candlesticks

That kid you know whos now driving a Lambo because he traded something called dogecoin? He has more in common with Japanese rice traders from the 1700s than you might think. Besides the ability to brag about their newfound riches, both traders likely analyzed price action and investor emotions by using the candlestick charting style. Although modernized in the late 1800s by journalist Charles Dow , the core principles of candlestick charting remain intact today. Both the modern and historical technical analysts who swear by the style regard price action as more important than earnings, news or any other fundamental principles. In other words, all known information is reflected in the price, which is precisely displayed in the candlestick. A candlestick represents the price activity of an asset during a specified timeframe through the use of four main components: the open, close, high and low. The open of a candlestick represents the price of an asset when the trading period begins whereas the close represents the price when the period has concluded. The high and the low represent the highest and lowest prices achieved during the same trading session. Every candlestick uses two physical features to display the four main components. The first feature, known as the body, is the wide midsection of the candlestick and it depicts the open and close during the observation period (most charts will allow you to set the range for the candlesticks) The close is represented at the top of the body in the green candlestick and at the bottom of the body in the red candle. On the opposite is true of the open, which forms the bottom of the green candlestick and the top of the red candlestick. The final two components, the high and low, are represented in the second feature of the candl Continue reading >>

Deploying your "own" crypto is fine, as long as it's done with a proven implementation. This book and books like it are great to help people to understand how crypto works which allows them to implement and in fact choose the correct cryptographic system in their application. As for people who can develop cryptography, well in which way? a cryptographic system or a cryptographic principle, one is very complicated and any mistake will result in a disaster, and the 2nd well it requires individuals with a very specific and i would say natural ability who had chosen educate them selves in a very narrow field. On the crypto system part for example PGP I would say it's less a question of competence and more a question of investment, PGP was developed with a good understanding on how a specific cryptographic principle works however I have high doubts that Phil Zimmermann would've been able for example to come up with a cryptographic principle like RSA or DSA which could be used to encrypt and sign data in that system even with all the education possibly available. So I do not personally believe that much can be done to increase the amount of mathematicians that can develop new cryptographic principles, but educating developers to actually implement them, and more importantly implement existing systems (because people seem to be able to mockup everything from bouncy castle to commercial HSM implementations with such creativity that deserves an award on it's own) in a secure manner is something that should be heavily invested in. Who said that quality comes always at cost? Crypto 101 is proof that there are exceptions to this rule. It is a free guide to the science of cryptography, that, in everyday language, addresses every software developer's need in correctly incorporating and applying cryptographic elements into the building of their software. Cryptography is a necessary evil that one way or another becomes an integral part of a developer's daily activity.Despite compacting crypto algorithmic implementations into modules, libraries or functions, that make knowledge in maths unnecessary in order to use them, their effective handling still requires a lot of effort. Block vs Stream chiphers, Encrypting vs Signing, Symmetric vs Asymmetric encryption, are just some of the aspects you ought to understand, otherwise you're not only running the risk of degraded performance, but also the risk of causing the exact opposite of what cryptography was invented to safeguard, that is, confidentiality, authenticity and integrity. Therefore every developer out there should at the very least have a grasp on the basics: what cryptography is, what it aims at, how to make the correct choice and application of the algorithms, as well as how the components work and interoperate. You would think that such an essential educational service would come at a cost, but that's not always the case. Fortunately there are also free, reliable and quality solutions out there, like the Crypto 101 book . Crypto 101 is a comprehensive and easy to follow guide to the world of cryptography, a conception of Laurens Van Houtven (lvh) , principal engineer at Rackspace Managed Security where he works on information security, cryptography and distributed systems. Glimpsing through the index, it looks as though his book has everything covered: Exclusive or/XOR, looks at this pillar of cryptography "You can apply XOR in any order: a b = b a, no matter what values a and b are." "Python, for example, provides the ^ (caret) operator that performs bitwise XOR on integers. It does this by first expressing those two integers in binary4 , and then performing XOR on their respective bits.Hence the name, bitwise XOR." Block ciphers, investigates the notions of the plaintext and ciphertext, while the first references on symmetric-key encryption, AES, DES and 3DES, make their appearance. They're followed with deep technical details of the algorithm's inner workings ( SubBytes ,ShiftRows ,MixColumns AddRoundKey etc), that despite their educational value, are marked as not essential to comprehend, since they don't offer much to the process of writing better software, as such they can be thoughtlessly skipped. Stream ciphers is a chapter that highlights the 'building up' style that the author adopts; isolating and deconstructing a topic for demonstrating how it works and what sort of issues it faces, and then builds upon it by presenting its better successor that holds the solutions to those issues. That is the exact case when explaining the EBC mode and the ways it can be attacked, such as the oracle attack in which an attacker can decrypt messages given access to the encryption oracle, a problem that was subsequently addressed by shifting to the CBC mode, something that subsequently lead to the CBC padding attacks, which subsequently lead to....you get the drift.
