I Just Deployed 1 Million Tokens Of My Own Cryptocurrency To The Ethereum Network In 20 Minutes - I've Never Coded In My Life

What an amazing experience this was. I have never felt more optimistic about the future of technology, and society in general. I just deployed 1 million tokens of my own cryptocurrency to the ethereum network in 20 minutes - I've never coded in my life Blockchain is the answer to so many pressing questions, and the solution to so many of our planet's problems. So if you have any questions, or would like to share any of your ideas on blockchain or cryptocurrency developments or even explore opportunities through a network of blockchain professionals, you can email me, no need to be shy. I started this blockchain journey of my mine, by exploring online. I am versed in digital marketing by trade, while also analyzing global markets in both energy and options, promoting sustainability via Peak Demand along the way. It was only the beginning of January 2018 that I bumped into one of the head coordinators of the BlockchainHub group, randomly at a Starbucks downtown here in Toronto. A very lucky collision. At that time I had no idea what I was in for. But fate was turning its hand in my direction. After 15 minutes of going back and forth, and him assessing my apitudes surrounding blockchain tech, he confidently decided to invite me to their training session on building currencies. Little did I know that only a few short weeks later, I would be deploying a cryptocurrency of my very own onto the ethereum network. Just know that I have never done anything like this before in my life. But this group of guys, oh man, did they make this process easy. An extremely intelligent and talented group of individuals put together this class just to show us the process of currency creation, and the class... WORKS. It's amazing how much can be accomplished in this decentralized ecosystem. I i Continue reading >>

Mehran Hydary And 2017 Mehran Hydary Medium

Kicked off the year with the University of Toronto Industry Insights Group by presenting key learnings and perspectives from my experience in the consulting industry to an audience of over 50 people. While delivering an introductory course about web development to Deloittes Women in Technology group in mid-January, I gained exposure to the keen interest that hundreds of people have in learning how to code. I started thinking about how I was to enable and foster that interest. I worked with one of the largest banks in Canada to help them acquire a bank in the United States of America. When Donald Trump entered office, I learned how politics can play a huge role in dictating the success or failure of an acquisition given how volatile the market can be. This was my first travel project outside of Toronto. I got to visit the Windy City of Chicago. I managed to travel to 10 cities in a span of 14 days. It was my second trip to Europe in 6 months and I explored England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Netherlands. Moved from Deloittes Mergers & Acquisition team to the Blockchain team. This allowed me to focus on my interests around the technology. To further my development skills and my passion for blockchain, I attended my first hackathon in Waterloo ETHWaterloo. It was a tremendous learning experience working with junior developers who were keen on building products over night. As I started getting busier with work, I made school alumni events a top priority for me. I attended numerous alumni events on a variety of different topics and got looped into the alumni mentorship program. I took a trip to New York to learn about R3s blockchain platform, Corda. I was there for about a week and it was my first solo trip outside of Toronto. I got to see a lot of my friends Continue reading >>

Certified Ethereum Developer: Building Smart Contracts

Certified Ethereum Developer: Building Smart Contracts

Blockchain | Artificial Intelligence | Creating Massive Value | Enhancing Transactions | Increasing Personal Freedoms | Twitter: @ShaanRay Certified Ethereum Developer: Building Smart Contracts Ethereum is a public blockchain that supports distributed computing and provides smart contract capabilities on its EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine). Smart contracts will transform several major industries in the coming years. At first glance, the concept of a smart contract seems simple and basic. However, the range and versatility of operations smart contracts offer is incredible. I recently attended the Certified Ethereum Developer (CED) program at York Universitys Blockchain Hub in Toronto. This certification program is the first of its kind. It focuses on Solidity, a programming language that runs on the Ethereum blockchain. By the end of the three-day intensive program, the other attendees and I, were able to code our own smart contracts and create tokens. The course also covered topics including ICOs, DAOs, smart property, and other emerging blockchain concepts. The program ends with an exam and a Capstone Project. I teamed up with Ben Brown and Mo Hasan to build smart contracts focused on smart city and government services. Our Capstone Project was a hypothetical municipality that ran its tax collection and municipal services through a series of smart contracts. Even though we completed and submitted the project, we continue to tweak it and add more features. Though I have been in the blockchain space for years, it was exciting to learn and revisit several new topics during CED. Some of these are below: Ethereum is modular and very flexible. A user can tweak the protocol and change several components of it to suit specific organizational needs. Two important such component Continue reading >>

Certified Ethereum Developer (ced)

A Certified Ethereum Developer (CED) is knowledgeable about the Ethereum blockchain, Ethereum transactions, the Solidity programming language and how to use it to write smart contracts on the Ethereum network. CEDs have professional working knowledge in 14 topics which coverthree (3) domains of Ethereum knowledge. These three domains make up the Common Body of Knowledge that all Ethereum developers must possess to earn the CED designation. The following careers would benefit from certification: Anyone who uses Ethereum in their daily lives The exam includes 70 multiple-choice and true/false questions covering each of the 14 topics listed below. The exam is time-limited to 60 minutes, so you will not have an opportunity to use a search engine. A passing grade of 70% is required to apply for certification. If you fail the exam, you can pay to take the exam again. You will be unable to apply for certification until you have successfully passed the exam. Once you've paid your exam fee, there is no time limit imposed on when you must take your exam. Feel free to wait as long as you like after paying until you're ready to take the examwithout fear of any penalty. However, once you begin the exam you will only have 60 minutes to answer all 70 questions. Studying for the CED exam is easy. The 14 topics are covered extensively online making it easy to learn the knowledge required for certification. The Common Body of Knowledge for theCertified Ethereum Developer certification is defined as follows: The CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium (C4) understands that privacy is an extremely important right granted to all, and is not a privilege earned by some. To that end, C4 has taken care to ensure that the collection, dissemination, and use of all personally identifiable informati Continue reading >>
