Just wondering if anyone can provide feedback and active discussions regarding these topics Ethereum vs Bitcoin1) Technological capacity/potential2) Economic security vs miner node count diversification 3) Transactional use case4) ETH(Ethereum is not ETH) vs BTC as a currency and its accessibility5) Economical adoption and popularity6) Business adoption and integration7) Future target group prospects Personally, based on what I know these are my points 1) Ethereum by far wins this one. Ethereum can do everything bitcoin can technologically wise PLUS Can already- act as the new decentralised "server" for all Developer applications- allow for certain existing and new currencies/blockchain to merge and integrate into the ethereum blockchain. Which then leads to- Dapps allowing IoT/smart devices that can communicate independently of each other( making stuff like auto selling excess solar power to neighbours/ drone delivery services / driverless car services/ airbnb auto lease services)- decentralised media outlets- decentralised identity database- finance decentralised international banking apps- realestate/automated inheritance apps/parliament voting list goes on basically anything u can think of as a business can be run on ethereum What's to come that bitcoin can't do- even more transaction capacity( necessary to run more apps/ more intensive stuff )- sharding which allows data to be split and stored on computers world wide. ( every one holds 1 piece of a 2000 puzzle ) and we still make a full puzzle in the end- with more transaction+sharding Ethereum is set to become the new internet that is decentralised. Nobody can stop it ever. No government can. Every device on the planet will be a part of the super computer mind hive and to shut down or block any part of the intern Continue reading >>

Bitcoin Vs Ethereum: Which Is Better Investment? - Ethtrader

Bitcoin Vs Ethereum: Which Is Better Investment? - Ethtrader

Bitcoin vs Ethereum: Which is better investment? It's reading these articles that make me think there is a legitimate organised PR campaign against Ethereum. Bitcoin and Ethereum are two completely different products. Bitcoin is a transactional store of value, Eth is a transactional store of programmes. They have completely different use cases and subsequent monetary dynamics yet articles like this try to subconsciously perpetuate the idea that you can only truly hold one (and implicit in this article is the subtle suggestion it is bitcoin). The truth is both ETH and BTC are excellent to hold for different reasons provided your entry price is right (i.e. low). If bitcoin is truly consolidating and kicking out its 740usd bag holders, now is actually a good time to buy it. Likewise ETH is on a gentle downslope presently which will probably post next HF so sometime around now is a good time to buy it. Ps that sweet SDC with it's staking reward is an amazing buy for holders when you compare to those two so any dips in it are a good time to buy. It's reading these articles that make me think there is a legitimate organised PR campaign against Ethereum. This is a good thing, no? It makes the CC underpriced. There's a fair number of people in the ethereum community who see ether as a transactional store of value (i.e. money) and consider it a direct competitor to bitcoin. It's not like it's just "outsiders" who think they're in competition. I highly discourage a 50/50 position for anyone considering it. In any case a 60/40 or 65/35 position in favor of ETH is much smarter. If BTC goes up so does ETH. If BTC goes down considerably, ETH goes up considerably. If no Dapps emerge and interest fades this may take some time but people are ignorant to the newsflow if they sell now an Continue reading >>

Ethereum Vs Bitcoin - The Difference In Focus : Ethtrader

Ethereum Vs Bitcoin - The Difference In Focus : Ethtrader

I feel like a lot of posts lately talking about the possibility of Ethers being the choice of currency to be accepted by merchants and traders. I feel like this is a bit of distraction from what Ethereum's focus should be. Again these are my two cents, and not an edict on how others must act. Bitcoin and bitcoiners have thrown their focus behind getting Bitcoin to displace dollars and gold (as a medium of exchange and as a storage of wealth). Whereas, Ethereum is focused at expanding the usage of currency to areas previously not possibly by traditional mediums (like Smart Contracts). Bitcoin may not be able to replace dollar as a day to day currency (which depends upon whether Bitcoin manages to get around their scalability concerns), but even as bitcoin is today, it is completely capable of displacing dollar as the international currency of trade among nations. In other words, while you may not wanna use bitcoin for buying a $5 latte from starbucks, that usage is completely different from using Iran using bitcoin to sell India natural gas. A 2 hour wait time may prevent Erik Voorhees from buying coffee with bitcoin, but this does not bother the foreign minister of Iran the same way (as long as enough of other countries are willing to use bitcoin). Similarly, Ethereum is looking towards creating new markets, markets previously thought not possible. Contrary to the beliefs of bitcoin Maximalists, bitcoin is completely not capable of facilitating the same things Ethereum can or to be able to beat Ethereum's headstart in it. In other words, while bitcoin focuses on capturing the old or existing economy, Ethereum focuses on capturing or creating the new economy. I expect a rational cryptocurrency investor to hold both Ethereum and bitcoin in their portfolio. I could be wro Continue reading >>

Why I Sold All My Ethereum Today And Converted It All Into Bitcoin : Bitcoin

Why I Sold All My Ethereum Today And Converted It All Into Bitcoin : Bitcoin

It was a very hard moment for me, but I was minded by the great Andreas Antonopoulos, it takes discipline to be a good trader. Buying when everything feels down is tough, but necessary if you want to profit. This is the most important mantra: buy when most people are selling, sell when most people are buying. I was trying to figure out why it was so hard. I made a very good multiple on my original ethereum investment. I should be happy realizing those profits. I realized it was my greed to follow everybody else. Otherwise I'd be missing out. What we're seeing today is our generation's .com bubble. When people are throwing hundreds of millions of dollars at eight pages of white paper, it doesn't take a genius that maybe, just maybe, each of those pages aren't worth $25 million each. I do believe that one day, ethereum will be the transformative vehicle for new companies that will mint the next Google and Facebook. It'll be the agent that will change our lives as we know it. But that day is not today. Fortunes will be lost and lives will be ruined. There are so many obstacles that ethereum has yet to tackle. Enacting a transformative change from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake, the chances of finding a show stopping bug in smart contracts, even just a whiff of one of the giant ICO companies imploding is enough to get weak hands to fold. And there are so many weak hands in ethereum. The vast majority of people investing in ethereum and ICO's haven't had the bitter taste of an equity dropping to 10% and having the discipline to hold on. How do you have confidence a bridge will hold when a 200-ton semi truck drives across? When 200 of those trucks have already driven across. Bitcoin has been around for 8 years. It has weathered attacks from the most determined hackers, gone Continue reading >>

This Will Happen To Bitcoin Or Ethereum? Total Btc Will Be : 21 Million, But What Will Be The Total Of Ethereum? - Bitcoin

This Will Happen To Bitcoin Or Ethereum? Total Btc Will Be : 21 Million, But What Will Be The Total Of Ethereum? - Bitcoin

This will happen to Bitcoin or Ethereum? Total BTC will be : 21 million, but what will be the total of Ethereum? No. According to the terms agreed by all parties on the 2014 presale, issuance of ether is capped at 18 million ether per year (this number equals 25% of the initial supply). This means that while the absolute issuance is fixed, the relative inflation is decreased every year. In theory if this issuance was kept indefinitely then at some point the rate of new tokens created every year would reach the average amount lost yearly (by misuse, accidental key lost, death of holders etc) and there would reach an equilibrium. But the rate is not expected to be kept: sometime in 2017 Ethereum will be switched from Proof of Work to a new consensus algorithm under development, called Casper that is expected to be more efficient and require less mining subsidy. The exact method of issuance and which function it will serve is an area of active research, but what can be guaranteed now is that (1) the current maximum is considered a ceiling and the new issuance under casper will not exceed it (and is expected to be much less) and (2) whatever method is ultimately picked to issue, it will be a decentralized smart contract that will not give preferential treatment to any particular group of people and whose purpose is to benefit the overall health and security of the network. So, it does not sound like it has a hard cap at all and it sounds like they're a bit behind on their 2017 Casper stuff too. The total supply of ether and its rate of issuance was decided by the donations gathered on the 2014 presale. The results were roughly: 60 million ether created to contributors of the presale 12 Million (20% of the above) were created to the development fund, most of it going to ear Continue reading >>

I Have $1000 To Invest. Bitcoin Or Litecoin, And Why? - Litecoin

I Have $1000 To Invest. Bitcoin Or Litecoin, And Why? - Litecoin

I have $1000 to invest. Bitcoin or Litecoin, and why? OP is asking about bitcoin and litecoin, this does NOT give you the opportunity to shill your favorite shitcoin. half and half. 10 LTC is a nice amount to have Don't fall into the trap of being on a "team". The more coins that succeed, the more we will all benefit. People seem to think that only one coin can exist in the end, and that mindset is toxic. Why shouldn't it be that way, though? Wouldn't it be better for all if one best coin was used? What if you only had one way to pay for things online, or at a store? If everywhere was suddenly MasterCard only, that would be inconvenient right? Especially given that there are alternatives that already exist. But ultimately, the market and the people of the world will decide if they want 1 currency, or 8. I think it would be fine because people/stores/companies don't normally do that sort of thing instantly. They usually give customers a warning or grace period for you to adhere to the new rule/way of doing things. My thought was that if all development was going toward one digital currency - that would be awesome/amazing. I guess this could never happen though because people want their product to be used, they want their brand to be valued or be used. Competition breeds innovation.. or something? Money still makes the world go 'round. This is a fallacy, profit comes from the percentage increase in the coins value. A lower price coin doesn't make it any more likely to moon. A lower market cap coin has a higher chance to moon since it doesn't take as much capital inflow to move the price. To answer op question I would diversify into both coins but what I hear you asking is what coin offers most value at today's price. Bitcoin has taken a huge jump recently and it may be d Continue reading >>
