Bitcoin To Rally On Consensus Conference, Fundstrat Analyst Says

Bitcoin To Rally On Consensus Conference, Fundstrat Analyst Says

Bitcoin is relatively cheap ahead of a major cryptocurrency conference in New York next week, setting the stage for a rally, according to researchers led by Tom Lee of Fundstrat Global Advisors. We expect the Consensus rally to be even larger than past years, the head of research said in a note to clients, referring to the Manhattan conference gathering for its fourth year. The event may draw more than 7,000 people, a surge from roughly 2,750 a year ago, Lee said. Last time, when new attendance doubled, Bitcoin rose 69 percent during the conference and 138 percent in the two months afterward, he said. Bitcoin slipped 3.4 percent since 5 p.m. Friday to $9,350 at 6:10 p.m. in New York, according to a composite of prices compiled by Bloomberg. Its now 52 percent below the high of $19,511 reached on Dec. 18. As a caveat, Lee said talk of regulations for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies could damp enthusiasm -- a scenario he views as unlikely. Bottom line: We expect BTC and cryptocurrencies to behave similarly to prior years and rally during Consensus, he wrote. Continue reading >>

Tom Lee: Next Week's Consensus Conference Could Push Bitcoin To All-time Highs | Newsbtc

Tom Lee: Next Weeks Consensus Conference Could Push Bitcoin to All-Time Highs Fundstrats Tom Lee believes that an annual cryptocurrency conference being held next week could see the price of Bitcoin test its all-time highs again. Consensus will run from May 14th to the 17th in New York City. The price of Bitcoin has traditionally rallied during the event. Tom Lee Believes Previous Trends Will Hold True for Bitcoin The Consensus conference is now in its fourth year. Its expected to attract around 7,000 digital currency advocates. Tom Lee identified in a note to clients that the events previous editions coincided with Bitcoin gains of between 10 and 70 percent. He also feels that this time around the rally will outperform previous years. MarketWatch reports the Fundstrat strategists sentiment: Already one of the largest crypto conferences in the world, attendance this year is up dramatically and coming at a time when Bitcoin/Crypto is down YTD. Hence, we expect the Consensus rally to be even larger than past years. If Lees analysis of previous years holds true this time around, the rally could see Bitcoin push back over $15,000. If his theory about this years gains being larger than those before it then we could see Bitcoin hitting close to its all-time highs again. However, Lee did acknowledge that it was not a dead certainty that Bitcoin would achieve such huge gains. He cited regulatory concerns as potentially limiting a post-Consensus rally: What could go wrong? Commentary around regulatory risks during Consensus are negative. We do not expect this to be the case, however. With Bitcoin and other digital currencies hitting the mainstream in a way not previously experienced, regulation will undoubtedly be a hot topic of conversation at the Consensus meetup. The current Continue reading >>

Tom Lee Predicts An Increase In Btc Prices After Ny Consensus Summit

Tom Lee Predicts an Increase in BTC Prices After NY Consensus Summit The rising popularity of bitcoin in recent days does not seem to be subsiding. According to Tom Lee, CEO of Fundstrat, Bitcoin could boost its bullish behavior thanks to the annual Consensus Summit conference. According to an article published by Bloomberg , an analysis conducted by the firm concluded that after each conference, confidence in the crypto market increases considerably. The NY Consensus Summit is an initiative of particular importance to the world of crypto money and blockchain technology companies. But beyond that, the event has made a name for itself, going from 400 attendants in 2015 to more than 4000 expected this year. After last years conference, not only did bitcoin prices increase drastically, but several startups and ICOs also gained a lot of exposure, significantly increasing their market share. Tom Lee expects this behavior to be repeated this year. A slightly brighter picture of blockchain technologies and more significant public exposure to the world of cryptos set the grounds to such optimistic forecasts. But it is not only Mr. Lee who has high expectations for such an event. Its organizers; the Coindesk team, have raised the bar to new heights: tickets are valued at between $1499 and $2999 USD and the advertising revenue already collected in full far exceeds that of last year. On their website the Coindesk team is quite optimistic about what they have to offer: Consensus 2018 will feature 250+ speakers and 4,000+ attendees from the leading industry startups, investors, financial institutions, enterprise tech leaders, and academic and policy groups who are building the foundations of the blockchain and digital currency economy. The NY Consensus Summit brings together the mo Continue reading >>

Reflecting the 2017s bullish trend triggered by the event, there is a high plausibility we are in for a change in the market sentiment. In addition, this event is co-hosted with the Economic Development Corporation of New York City as the city aims to become the capital for blockchain as evident from the statement of citys senior VP, Anthony Hogrebe: The goal is really to plant that flag and send a very clear message that we want to work with you, want to support you, and we ultimately want NYC to be the global capital for blockchain. We think theres already a tremendous presence here in New York, but its also a nascent community. If we dont plant a flag and make strategic investments, New York could Continue reading >>

I know some of you are sceptical with cryptocurrencies right now and many believed the bubble has popped. I dont know about them but I am still very bullish about cryptocurrencies. These world is full with smart people that are working to solve real problem to make the world a better place. Despite the FUD that we hear lately, there are many positive things happening under the surface. Tom Lee: Bitcoin Price Increase Coming After Consensus Conference

Tom Lee: Bitcoin Price Increase Coming After Consensus Conference Osato Avan-Nomayo May 8, 2018 9:00 am Fundstrat researchers, led by Tom Lee, say Bitcoin is all set up for a massive rally going into Consensus week. The Bitcoin price has dipped slightly to the $9,300 mark after nearly reaching the $10,000 mark. The cryptocurrency has been on a three-week high after struggling for the better part of 2018. Historical Relationship Between Consensus and Bitcoin Price The Fundstrat researchers are basing their prediction on the behavior of Bitcoin prices in the wake of previous Consensus conferences. In a note to clients of the firm, Lee stated that this years gathering would be larger than the one held last year. He also went on to say that whenever attendance at the conference increased significantly, Bitcoin prices rallied in the immediate aftermath. In 2017, attendance at the conference doubled from the previous year. The value of Bitcoin increased by 69 percent during the meeting. In the two months after Consensus, Bitcoin was up by 138 percent. Lee is expecting this pattern to hold, believing that the results this year might even be more significant. For one thing, the 2018 Consensus conference is expected to gather twice as many participants as last years event. More than 2,750 people attended the summit in Manhattan in 2017. The Consensus conference is an annual blockchain summit that features keynote addresses from leading experts in the industry. It is one of the most popular blockchain technology gatherings of the year. The 2018 edition takes place from May 14th to May 16th. The venue for the summit is the Hilton Midtown in New York.
