Ethereum Faucets | Are They Worth It?

Ethereum Faucets | Are They Worth It?

If youd like to own some Ethereum but dont have enough money to purchase any or buy a mining rig, you may be interested in using an Ethereum faucet. Faucets reward users with free Ethereum for viewing ads and completing captchas. The sites then use some of the ad revenue that they receive to continue to fund the faucet with more Ethereum. Honestly, these types of websites make my scam senses tingle, but I decided to give one a go anyway. I began my experiment with a search for a well-known, reputable faucet to try out. After reading through a few Reddit, Quora, and Bitcointalk forums, it became clear that this wasnt going to be a successful search. Several people reported that there used to be a website that hosted multiple faucets, epay.info, but was exposed as a scam and has since shut down. Not a good start. Without finding a single comment positively endorsing a faucet, I decided to go with ethereumfaucet.info . It had everything I was looking for right there in the website name. I navigated to the website and was immediately told that my ad blocker has got to go. I understand that ads are at the core of their business model, but I was still turned off by the required step. I turned off my ad blocker, reloaded the page, and bam! Im hit with more banner ads than a Russian streaming website. Avoiding the temptation to double [my] Bitcoin in 24 hour, I scrolled down and clicked the input box to enter my Ethereum wallet address. Pop-up. The real faucet page opened in a new tab while the page I was originally on became an ad for a Bitcoin faucet. I guess they think that if youre willing to try one, youll be willing enough to try them all. I exited out of the ad and navigated to the new faucet page. Lets try this again. Scroll. Click Pop-up. At least they had the courtes Continue reading >>

Already know what Bitcoin is and want to go straight to the best sites? TL;DR post. Note: URLs in here are referral URLs. I get a small bonus upon your earnings, you will not get less. On some sites I can even give a bonus back so it can only be positive for you. If you don't want to be my referral then surf directly to the site instead of clicking the URL. Already clicked? Clear cookies or use incognito mode. Yeah, we've all heard about Bitcoin - and we probably all scratch our heads why we haven't bought a few bitcoins back in 2011, where the first physical item bought by Bitcoin was a pizza - 10k BTC for a roughly 25$ transcation. As a reminder: currently a single Bitcoin is worth more than 5k $. Back in the time, Bitcoin 'faucets' started to pop up: sites where you could get Bitcoin for free (yes, as in free beer!). Jumping on the Bitcoin hype train, a lot of such sites have popped up, but they are far from profitable. However, since Bitcoin got my interest, I decided to investigate some of those sites. This post is intended for those who do not wish to invest 'real' money in Bitcoin, but would like to passively make a small amount of them. This will not be very profitable: the point of this post is to show a way to get Bitcoins, for 'free'. If, in the future, the Bitcoin prise rises, you can actually make a lot of profit with your small amount of Bitcoins. So, proceed with care! A Satoshi is a 10-8 Bitcoin ( 1/(100 Million) ) Before claiming from a faucet, you usually have to solve a captcha to prevent bots. Before you get into Bitcoin, make sure you understand how to securely store Bitcoins. Also be aware of "fake" Bitcoins: these are basically 'forged' Bitcoins which try to convince the user (you) that they are real Bitcoins. Example of those are "Bitcoin Cash" Continue reading >>

Dogecoin is a fun, new and rapidly growing form of digital currency. This form of digital currency is called "cryptocurrency"; a type of digital currency. Cryptocurrency is completely anonymous, decentralized, and extremely secure. Dogecoin was created by programmer Billy Markus from Portland, Oregon and Jackson Palmer from Australia. Yes it is but it is coded as a branch of the Litecoin family of digital cryptographic currency, it improves upon Bitcoin. The Coinpursuit site explains in more detail: SHA-256 and Scrypt are the two most common algorithm systems used by cryptocurrency miners in order to authenticate blocks of transaction data. The system used, unfortunately, is not up to the miners; it's set by the developers of a given type of currency. When you go to cryptocurrency discussion boards and forums, you'll find there's a vigorous debate between the two algorithms. We'll look at the two types, and the arguments being made for and against them. Before jumping into that, however, let's talk hash in a little more detail. The term refers to complex mathematical computations that are required in order for successfu Continue reading >>

Bitcoin Cash Tip Bot Returns After Reddit Fixes Account Hacks Vulnerability

Bitcoin Cash Tip Bot Returns After Reddit Fixes Account Hacks Vulnerability Bitcoin Cash supporters were jubilant today after learning their much loved tippr bot was back following a statement by Reddit that an account hacks security vulnerability had been fixed. A malicious actor targeted Mailgun and gained access to Reddits password reset emails. The nature of the exploit meant that an unauthorized person was able to access the contents of the reset email. This individual did not have access to either Reddits systems or to a redditors email account, a Reddit admin says . Mailgun is an email automation service which apparently had an employees account compromised by an unauthorized user. How exactly that employee was compromised remains unclear, but Mailgun says : We immediately closed the point of access to the unauthorized user and deployed additional technical safeguards to further protect this sensitive portion of our application. There was speculation the account hacks of mainly Bitcoin Cash supporters was an inside job by a Reddit employee, but it seems that an employees account at a third party system was affected instead. As an immediate precautionary measure, we moved reset emails to an in-house mail server soon after we determined reset links were indeed being clicked without access to the users email, and before Mailgun had confirmed to us that they were vulnerable, a Reddit admin says. It remains unclear who was behind the hack or whether Reddit and Mailgun will pursue that line of investigation, with many pointing fingers at Bitcoin Core supporters because the r/btc subbreddit was hacked to point to r/bitcoin.Accused of being too slow to react, a Reddit admin says: Im confident in saying we reacted to this just about as quickly as possible. We went from f Continue reading >>

(The lowest minimal wage country) That means we are making 5 times the minimal wage of Uganda. In general it do not seem like a worthy choice for a new bitcoin user to try to earn money with faucet,if you live in an extremely undeveloped country you might be able to make 0,5$ an hour but thats about it. I also do not recommend it to anyone as I started losing my sanity in the end, first off 99% of the sites force you to turn off adblock, about 50% of the sites have some sort of trick and the rest 50% only ask for a captcha code. Most sites are trying to bait you into clicking on the ads. you can see all sites I've used on my faucetbox account Continue reading >>
