3 Cheapest Ways To Buy Bitcoins In Canada

Looking for cheap Bitcoins, huh? Well, youve come to the right place! As of October 2017, there are three simple ways to save the most on your Bitcoin purchases with your Canadian bank account. The absolutely cheapest way to purchase Bitcoins in Canada is through Interac Online on Coinsquare also provides this service, but at higher percentage (3.5%). Interac Online is tricky to get. First off, your debit card needs to have the Interac Online logo, but without Visa debit. During an online transaction, your bank card will automatically differ to Visa debit over Interac Online, making it impossible to purchase Bitcoins using Interac Online. At the moment, only TD, Scotiabank, and RBC are the only major banks to still provide them, and in some cases, the branch will refuse to give you the debit cards without the Visa debit logo. There are credit unions that offer Interac Online as well you may want to check here to see if it includes it, and follow up at your local branch. Its also important to note that youll need to verify your identity with Coinsquare before being able to make this super inexpensive Bitcoin purchase. That means youll need to provide a copy of your Drivers License/ID, proof of address (utility bills, etc), and a photo of yourself holding up your ID. Its annoying, but necessary because of Canadas anti-laundering laws. The neat thing? Purchases using Interac Online are (typically) instant. I only say typically because theres never a guarantee when dealing with the relationship between banks and exchanges. 2.5% Exchange Fee with Electronic Funds Transfer (E-Transfer) The next inexpensive route for Bitcoin purchases are Electronic Funds Transfer (or E-Transfers). Probably one of the most popular ways to electronically transfer cash between Canadians, using Continue reading >>

Best Way To Buy Bitcoin And Other Cryptocurrencies Incanada

Best way to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies inCanada A simple guide to buying and safely storing your crypto. If you live in the arguably greatest country on Earth, home of maple syrup, the Canucks and Justin Trudeau, heres a quick guide on the best and safest way(at least as of this moment) to purchase Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies(cryptos). Took me a while to figure out the best and easiest way to do it after spending countless hours researching Youtube videos, Reddit channels and reading blog posts. Hopefully my little guide will save you time, money and stress. First, a bit of background. I found out about cryptocurrencies back in 2013, from a group of friends who were mining Bitcoin at the time. These guys had a whole setup in their apartments, using their gaming rigs to mine as much Bitcoin and Litecoin as they could. Honestly, I wasnt very interested in it at the time, even though my friends were super excited about the whole thing. I got some details from them on what it is and how it works, but I didnt want to buy or wanted to own any of it, thinking its a just a passing geeky fad. Silly me! Fast forward to 2017 and the crypto market is going bonkers. It is now worth as much as $250 billion market cap(50% of that is Bitcoin) and everyone and their grandma is looking to get in on the action. The FOMO(fear of missing out) is strong with this one and for a good reason. Bitcoin went from $100 in 2013 to $10,000 this year and some people are predicting it will hit up to $50,000 in the next 10 years. Lets just say we live in interesting times. December 12 Update: 488 market cap (Jesus!), Bitcoin is now 21,000 CAD. That being said, buying and holding Bitcoin, Ether and cryptocurrencies in general, is not as easy as youd imagine(the reason why I wrote this Continue reading >>

How To Buy Bitcoin In Canada The Definitive Guide On How To Purchase Bitcoin In Ca

Bitcoin is the most traded version of a new type of currency called cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency took its rise from the new blockchain technology that was developed in 2008/2009 by a group of software developers. The technology is whats known as open source, which means that anybody can view (and edit) the source code. Due to the open nature of blockchain, several people started developing what became known as crypto currencies for the system. These currencies eventually took hold in the asset markets, and people began trading them. This trading gave rise to the extremely high prices weve been witnessing with the asset class (mainly driven by speculation). The point about Bitcoin (which has lead to most contention) is whether its actually an asset at all. Since its an entirely digital product (IE a computer file), the idea that its actually worth anything has lead to many regulators becoming confused about its provenance, as well as becoming very jittery about the various crypto exchanges which have sprung up around the world. Canadian news has been all over the Bitcoin buzz. Find out about Crypto Wallets here . The way to buy Bitcoins is through these exchanges but you need to be VERY careful if you decide to do this, as this is the equivalent of the Wild West right now. Ths following tutorial is going to explain *exactly* what you need to know about Bitcoin and how you can buy/sell it. Firstly, we need to start with Blockchain Blockchain is a type of technology which has been developed to provide a decentralized data infrastructure. In short, its used to give people the ability to store, update and manage data across a spectrum of providers, rather than just a single server. This not only increases the security, but also the accessibility and integrity of the data. Continue reading >>

How To Buy Bitcoin In Canada?

Bitcoin is a currency, more commonly referred to as a cryptocurrency that is created and exists in electronic form, with no physical version for Bitcoin holders to possess. Bitcoin was created by Satoshi Nakamoto and was released in 2009. Nakamotos vision was to create a digital currency that falls out of the reach of governments and central banks. Bitcoin continues to grab the headlines, but its not just the currency itself that is worthy of praise, with the blockchain technology behind the currency considered to be a first of its kind. The ethos of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is the decentralized element. Bitcoin transactions all over the world are recorded and stored on the blockchain. The blockchain is a public ledger that is found on all of the computers within the Bitcoin network. All of the ledgers are synchronized with no master ledger. The verification and update process for Bitcoin transactions is referred to as Bitcoin mining . The process is independent, with miners selected at random to verify transactions over a given period of time. Once the verification is complete, the transaction information is incorporated into a block, which then links to the blockchain. Miners receive Bitcoins as a reward for the verification process. With the decentralized ethos of Bitcoin, the other attribute is the anonymity given to those buying, selling or holding Bitcoins. Since the evolution of Bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies have hit the market as having offshoots of Bitcoin itself, with Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold having been created in the 2nd half of this year. Buying Bitcoin in Canada could be done in various ways: Via Bitcoin exchanges, through CFDs or through ATMs. While buying Bitcoin via exchange and ATMs provides you the legal possession of the cryptocurre Continue reading >>
