The transaction fee is included in the sum of the amount you want to send. The Electrum platform will issue a warning if the total transaction amount exceeds your wallet balance. *Note: mBTC = millibitcoin, or one-thousandth of a bitcoin. At present, Electrum only supports bitcoin. In addition to receiving bitcoin payments, you can transfer bitcoin to your Electrum wallet from another wallet. This can be done by locating your bitcoin receiving address in the Receive tab on Electrum. Next, transfer funds from the service you are currently using into your unfunded Electrum wallet. How do I make or receive payments with Electrum? To make a payment on Electrum, click the Send tab. The Pay To field is where you type in the bitcoin address or copy it from the clipboard. August 1st is also the scheduled activation of BIP 148, also known as the User Activated Soft Fork (UASF). The new, forking coin, Bitcoin Cash, will launch as a so-called User Activated Hard Fork (UAHF) in reality; a Miner Activated Hard Fork. All Bitcoin (BTC) holders will receive an amount in Bitcoin cash equivalent their Bitcoin holdings. Note: If you find yourself confused by all this fork talk, check out this article on the subject or Andreas Antonopolous excellent Forkology presentation). Major Chinese ASIC manufacturer and mining pool operator, Bitmain, planned and coded a response to the possibility of a UASF-induced fork. This code, originally termed Bitcoin ABC and now known as Bitcoin Cash (ticker symbol BCC or BCH ), will fork to a version of Bitcoin without SegWit but with an 8x larger blocksize. Currently, Bitcoin Cash is estimated to have the support of just 0.26% of total Bitcoin mining hashrate and its price on the ViaBTC futures market is approximately 12% of Bitcoins. How these figures will develop after the fork occurs is a highly speculative matter. Daily chart of Bitcoin Cash futures price on ViaBTC; currently the only available market. The present exchange rate of CNY to USD is 0.14. The consensus appears to be that Bitcoin Cash will fail to gain meaningful traction. Without massive financial support, BCH will likely trade in a 3 (or even 2) digit range shortly after launch, as Bitcoin holders will sell it in masses for Bitcoin or fiat. How To Claim Bitcoin Cash

How To Claim Bitcoin Cash

Bitcoin Cash or also known as Bcash and denoted by tickers BCC or BCH was successfully launched in August. If at that point you had bitcoins, it means that you have an equivalent number of BCCs that are tied to the same key. In this guide we will tell you how to get access to your BCC and sooner or later use them. The good thing is that if everything goes smoothly and accordingly, Bitcoin Cash provides a powerful protection against replay. In other words there is no chance of you accidentally spending your bitcoins (BTC) instead of BCC, and vice versa. So if BCC ( Bitcoin ) is of no interest to you right now, you dont do anything. You can just continue using Bitcoin. But if you ever change your mind and not lose your personal keys, you can always access your BCC. Similarly, you can do nothing if you want to try a long-term investment in BCC. If you do not lose your personal keys, they will not disappear from you anywhere. But what do you do if you decide to sell your BCH share now? As we mentioned earlier, if you are in a full control of your Bitcoin private keys, you can hold BTC as well as BCH. The bad thing is that if you are not cautious enough, you may accidentally reveal your private keys while claiming your BCH and since these are the same keys that protect your bitcoins, you could have your BTC stolen. That is why before taking any action, make sure that you comprehend what you are doing and dont reveal your personal keys to anyone. To protect your private keys, we recommend using wallets. This is how you can get access to BCC for each of the options. We recommend using a so-called full node wallet such as Bitcoin Core or Bitcoin Knots , as they store your private keys in a special folder on your computer. You can also create a backup folder going to the menu a Continue reading >>

Electrum Wallet And Bitcoin Cash

At the time of the Bitcoin Cash fork (Aug 1st, 2017, if I remember correctly) I had all my BTC stored in my Electrum wallet on my Windows laptop. In Oct 2017 I moved all my BTC from Electrum to another wallet on my laptop. Now I'm want to claim my Bitcoin Cash (BCH). So I exported all my private keys from my Electrum wallet. I'm mostly a newbie, so I'm thinking that one or more of those Electrum private keys correspond to the BTC I had in my Electrum wallet at the time of the fork. * How do I determine which of the Electrum private key(s) correspond to the BTC I had in my Electrum wallet at the time of the fork? * Or, am I on the wrong track and is there some other process for me to claim my BCH? You could just install ElectronCash ( ).. then open your "old" Electrum wallet using Electron Cash... it should automatically find all your BCH. 2. You can just export ALL your BTC keys from your old wallet and import ALL of them into a BCH wallet (like ElectronCash)... It won't matter if you import "empty" ones... If you want to just check it out to see what you're going to get... or you really only want to import the ones with coins, you could export the "xpub" from your old Electrum wallet... and then create a new watching wallet in ElectronCash using the xpub... it should find all your addresses that have BCH... you can then find the private keys that match the addresses with BCH. Personally, I would say that there is no need for you to determine which key(s) had BTC and therefore have BCH on them... just import them all either by using the whole wallet file with ElectronCash, or importing all the exported keys into the BCH wallet o Continue reading >>
