I have only great experience with Cryptopay! Yes, the situation with cards was extremely unpleasant since I started to use Cryptopay service only because of their cards. But I was glad how fast my funds were refunded, how fast I was informed about the whole situation that made me sure everything was under control. Thanks to support team I found out another interesting service for me that is available at the moment on Cryptopay. But of course. I'm waiting for a new card programme <3<3<3 PS I've read another comments and can't totally understand the issue with verification. I passed it at once and spent about 20 minutes for that. That's why I want to share that verification is easy-breezy. Their offer might seem attractive, their fees reasonable. However, what is not immediately apparent is that you will lose a sizable chunk on their exchange rates. For example, at the time of writing of this review, Coinbase is buying BTC at $8,620, BitPay is buying at $8,608, while Cryptopay is buying at $8416 (and selling at $8839). These discrepancies tend to be even more drammatic at times. I'd gotten a plastic debit card from CryptoPay and had been using it for several months. And then, suddenly, my card is deactivated and revoked. How? Why? Well, see, CryptoPay don't issue debit cards, they are only an intermediary between BTC holders and a real bank. Turns out, the bank decides to cease offering cards to such-and-such customers (based of their residence) and guess what, you don't have a card anymore. Ok, I suppose these things can happen. However, I paid $25 for the card and I was issued no refund. Now, that is unacceptable. Also, their support is a poorly trained, their communication skills lacking. If you manage to get a reply to your support request at all. Basically, my educa Continue reading >>

Reddit Stripped Bitcoiners And Hackers From Remaining Anonymous Without Notice

Reddit Stripped Bitcoiners and Hackers from Remaining Anonymous Without Notice Reddit's new privacy policy states they may share users information with 3rd party advertisers Following a possibly misleading comment on Reddit : Part of Reddit's new privacy policy, effective January 1, 2016, states that they may share your information with 3rd party advertisers after saying before that they wouldn't, left users buzzing around. Several of the bitcoiners and hackers expressed fears over the possible move of having their data handed to a third party, and a lot of users wondered why the decision was taken within such short a time. We decided to get in touch with a number of experts in order to seek out their individual perception on this move by Reddit, and how they think the whole scenario may play out in the near future. The opinions of these experts give insight and clean up the air of uncertainty that has formed over the last 48 hours in relation to the privacy policy update from Reddit. Users expressed their disagreement with the new privacy policy, pointing out that such information should not be used for companies self-interests. Moreover, some users like GarrioValere mentioned that they havent ever seen a privacy policy update that was beneficial to the consumer and this is more like a code for "we found a new way to make money using your data." We asked if the fears were justified, here are the responses: Tone Vays , Head of Research at BraveNewCoin: Sure, but all users are affected equally, I don't see why a bitcoin person is more affected then a person who just looks at cat pictures. The only story angle is that they can compile a list of Bitcoin users and perhaps identify them from the email and what they say. By the way, they have always been providing that info Continue reading >>

Visa Cancels Bitcoin Debit Card For Cryptopay, Bitwala, And Bitpay

Visa Cancels Bitcoin Debit Card For Cryptopay, Bitwala, And Bitpay

Visa cancels Bitcoin debit card for Cryptopay, Bitwala, and Bitpay Visa has cancelled their Bitcoin debit card program because their issuer WaveCrest Holdings Ltd were not complying with their operation standards. WaveCrest Holdings Ltd were asked to freeze all debit card programs from Visa because of a lack of compliance with operating standards. The change came as a shock for consumers who were given little warning about the cancellation. Services affected by this change include Cryptopay, Bitwala, and Bitpay. The services announced that they would return all funds to investors. Cryptopay and Bitwala cards have been suspended since 5th January and cannot be used anymore. Bitpay was currently expanding their service to allow users to fund debit cards with cryptocurrencies but spend with US dollars, British pounds, or Euros. Bitpay had been marketing the changes since last year in 2017. The prepaid debit cards would allow users to boost them up on Bitcoin and Ethereum coin and then spend the funds with fiat currency as they normally would do with a regular bank card. This change was highly anticipated by consumers because it would change the way Bitcoin investors could use their coins. Bitpay announced that the changes came directly from Visa who demanded that operations close immediately with the debit card program. There seems to be consensus amongst the exchanges involved in the program that the order came directly from Visa. Visa has also made a statement saying that the program has been cancelled because WaveCrest had non-compliance with our operating rules. Visa holds strict standards for their operations and claim that this is the main reason for them ceasing the program. Bitwala held an emergency meeting to try and resolve the issue with card holders. The chang Continue reading >>

I found out about their ICO a few hours ago. I can't find an official ICO thread. It seems that they don't have one. Well, I'm not sure about this one, I mean 50000000 EUR for p2p platform, stock and a bank account??? isn't it too much? Nothing about cards or mobile apps... They didn't make any ANN threads but thanks for this one though.Cryptopay is launching an ICO that's quiet surprising but this project would only be good for those who aren't afraid to show themselves into the world. Centralized things already which I have seen on their past service regarding on their cards it does really give a good real world usage specially on bitcoin holders. I would like to see on their pre-sale if it would be sold out for how many days then interest of people is really on here and worth to invest too. Cryptopay is well established project, I don't see the point that they want to have additional funds to support their business while they are already operating and they are already success. Being centralized is a shit in crypto. I also got an email from them regarding this ICO and I am yet to go through all of the ICO information but I personally like cryptopay and using their plastic card for months without big issues. We offer a SegWit enabled Bitcoin Wallet with a mobile app; that would allow you to convert your Bitcoin (or 45 other Crypto's) into $, or Euros instantly. Unlike all these new comers, we've been around since 2013, we have an inhouse dev team (our biggest overhead) who've created an amazing blockchain that links banking to Bitcoin ( ) We also have an in-house support team that can help out when you get into difficult situations ( ) We wish you all the best in your journey for a new Bitcoin wallet provider; and hope that you consider Wirex: Exactly. I didn't realise this was going on. Great example is of this little trick I learned the hard way with Spectrocoin. On the homepage they list the exchange rate, lets say it is currently 886. So you log in, transfer some BTC. Then you goto sell the BTC into EUR but on this page the exchange rate isn't listed at all. You assume it's the price you saw when you logged in. Unless you enter exactly 1BTC, you won't know what the actual exchange rate is. So you enter lets say .6btc or 2.3btc and the EUR amount comes up and it seems about right but actually it's terrible rates. Unless you double check the math you don't realise you are getting scammed here. It's your/my own fault, but this is super dodgy practice. Spectrocoin offer a price 50 less than anywhere else on the market. Then take a percentage on top. Additionally, they only update their exchange price on the page for selling your bitcoin every 5 minutes or so, and the algorithm they are using is completely hidden - so what rate are they using? Maybe getting the worst possible market price for the last 5 minutes, then subtracting 50 from that. Gotta admit, that is a fantastic money maker on their part - but the moment I realised it, I stopped using them, and why I'm here now Continue reading >>

Why I Stopped Using Cryptopay.me : Bitcoinuk

Found them by googling for bitcoin debit cards, the reviews came back fairly positive, on the website there were over 80,000 cards issued (allegedly) and decided i need a way to quickly push and pull money between GBP and BTC. Upon signing up, I was presented with a nice user interface, everything very flashy. Wasn't a fan of the annoying sounds from the chat box but that wasn't a real issue. Quickly transferred in a little bit of BTC to cover the cost of the bitcoin debit card. This is when the first issue became apparent... The online wallet only allows for 4 decimal places So my transfer which included beyond the four decimal places, the rest of it disappeared into the ether. Now, this is my fault for not checking but it does lead into other issues, explained later.. I ordered the card for 15 GBP, the money was debited directly from my BTC wallet and that was that, sit back and wait. So I thought... Three days later I received an email from their customer services saying that the new contactless cards were now useless and could no longer be loaded. The cost of the cards were going to be sent back to peoples wallets and a new card could be issued at no cost with a promo code, problem here was, until I activated the card I had ordered I was unable to generate another request for one in the same currency. Up to 4 weeks to deliver the current one.. I logged a support ticket to try and get the issue resolved. Now this isn't uncommon, I logged in to check and noticed the amount which had been deducted from my BTC account had been deposited back into my GBP account.. I lost 4 in the process due to the volatility of BTC. Updated my ticket requesting it be sent back to my BTC account and not my GBP account as this wasn't where it was originally deducted from. I wonder how mu Continue reading >>

Bitcoin Visa Debit Cards Are Cancelled | Hacker News

Bitcoin Visa Debit Cards Are Cancelled | Hacker News

1. There are very few issuing banks for crypto <> fiat debit cards. Internationally there has been 1 WaveCrest; which as of a few months ago decided to discontinue support. 2. Even when a bank will sponsor a crypto <> fiat debit card into one of the payment networks, the company offering the card will face constant pressure from their own bankers. 3. This happening is from my perspective just a quick look behind the curtain of the Digital Currency infrastructure problem as it exists today. There is no good way in, or out of digital currency at the moment, and the ones that exist are tenuous at best. The base truth is that Traditional banks are not capable of supporting new methods of value transfer. That means that the companies that build and provide infrastructure for those methods are currently at the mercy of a partner who basically wont help them. I always try and make the charitable assumption about the motives of others and my take on the banking <> digital currency relations is basically this: Banks have a business model that has worked well for generations; they do a little fractional reserve, they extract as many fees as they can invent, and they centralize the control of wealth. The promise of digital currency is that everyone will have the capability to do that for themselves. So, its not surprising to me that it is hard for them to work with those of us who are building bridges and on/off ramps between the two systems. With all of that being said, I am sorry for all of the debit card users who are currently without an off ramp, and I can assure you that the folks at BitPay, Xapo, and all of the other companies that lost access to the EU are working as hard as possible to bring those programs back online. 1) Think from their perspective. They have very litt Continue reading >>

All European Bitcoin Visa Debit Cards Are Suspended

All European Bitcoin Visa Debit Cards Are Suspended

All European Bitcoin Visa Debit Cards are Suspended On January 5, 2018, Wave Crest Holding a company issuer of Bitcoin debit and virtual cards announced it was closing all of its Visa prepaid cards due to a change in operating permissions. As a result, all the cryptocurrency cards issued for customers in Europe became unavailable for POS payments and withdrawals. According to reports, Visa, a multinational financial services corporation and payment network, has instructed the issuing bank to immediately close all accounts of its prepaid Visa debit card programs. Most of the cards were immediately blocked, and only cards used for salary payment will be still valid until 19 January. The license agreement with Wave Crest Holding is terminated due to the continuous non-compliance with the Visa rules, stated representatives of Visa. Wave Crest Holdings Limited, founded in 2008 and is based in Gibraltar, was providing payments solutions and cryptocurrency debit card issuing services in Europe and served as the issuing bank for crypto companies like: BitPay, Cryptopay.me, Coinsbank, TenX, Wirex, AdvCash and others. As a result, most of the providers of cryptocurrency debit cards services in Europe can no longer offer their customers services of cryptocurrency withdrawals or POS payments using debit cards. BitPay, a global bitcoin payment service provider, stated about the situation: The BitPay Card (non-US) is one of these programs, along with other cryptocurrency-related and standard prepaid Visa debit cards. Unfortunately, Wave Crest was unable to provide us or cardholders with more time to prepare for this change. Your BitPay Card account is now deactivated, and you will not be able to use it for further payments or withdrawals. Now, BitPay is offering card order fee refun Continue reading >>
