Bitcoin: 7 Reasons Why You Should Not Invest In Bitcoins, Cryptocurrencies - The Economic Times
7 reasons why you should not invest in bitcoins, cryptocurrencies 7 reasons to stay away from cryptocurrency like Bitcoin How to keep your money safe if you want to invest in cryptocurrencies When Vivek Pethe read that the price of a bitcoin had surged five times between January and September 2017, he couldnt resist jumping on the cryptocurrency bandwagon. Pethe started small. In June 2017, he invested Rs 11,000 in bitcoins and another Rs 15,000 in ATC Coin , an Indian cryptocurrency . Although his Rs 15,000 investment in ATC Coin quickly grew to Rs 1.82 lakh, Pethe started having doubts when he tried to withdraw Rs 5,000 from his holdings. He was unable to execute the sell order smoothly. The computer screen just flashed operational error messages. When that was resolved, and he was finally able to sell them, the money wasnt credited to his bank account right away. I finally received the money three months later, that too after many follow ups with the firm. I am not sure if Ill be able to recover my remaining investment in this scheme, he says. While this incident prompted Pethe to sell his bitcoin stash immediately and vow to steer clear of such investments in the future, cryptocurrency exchanges claim that around 2,500 new users in India are entering the market every day. Gopal Jiwarajka, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry says, Bitcoin is fraught with risks and not backed by any tangible asset. But the number of investors is still growing, which is a concern. His bitcoin experience: Invested Rs 11,000 in bitcoins and Rs 15,000 in ATC Coin. The value of the latter grew to around Rs 1.82 lakh but when he tried to sell part of his holdings, he faced a number of challenges. He sold his bitcoin holdings immediately afterwards for Rs 19,000 and decided to s Continue reading >>

Bitcoin Investment Plan - Crypto Mining Blog
All About BTC, LTC, ETH mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies Bter Investment Plan With 10% Yearly Interest Rate The Asian crypto currency exchange Bter has made available to its users an Investment Plan opportunity, in partnership with the JUA, giving users 10% yearly interest rate for Bitcoins held in their accounts. You need to enroll into the Investment plan to have the BTC in your account bring you interest rate and the good thing is that your coins do not get locked up, you can still trade with them or withdraw them at any time. The interest rate is being paid on a daily basis, depending on the balance you have available with the current early interest rate at 10.52%. Bter is able to offer this in partnership with JUA, a large scale mining farm operator, as apparently the funds are used as investment in JUAs farms and the interest is provided by the mined coins. It is pretty much the same principle used by the HaoBTC online wallet service, but here you get paid a slightly higher interest rate on a daily basis and you can use the coins to trade in the exchange making some more extra profit. American Investors Plan To Hodl Bitcoin Until Price Hits $196,000
American Investors Plan to HODL Bitcoin Until Price Hits $196,000 A new survey asks when Americans would sell all their Bitcoin holdings and other questions. When would an average investor completely exit Bitcoin? A new survey among Americans indicates a price of $196K. LendEdu commissioned a survey in November 2017 of 564 Americans who had invested in Bitcoin. While surveys have been done in the past to gauge the awareness of the general public about Bitcoin, this survey focused on American Bitcoin investors and their sentiments. We have come a long way from 2015, when 65% of Americans surveyed didn't know what Bitcoin was. The questions asked in the survey ranged from their reasons for investing in Bitcoin to when they would sell all their Bitcoins. The average price at which the survey respondents said that they will sell all their Bitcoins is $196,166 per Bitcoin. This represents 30x the value of Bitcoin prevailing at the time of the survey. It is to be noted that this is the price at which the respondents will sell all their Bitcoins. Almost a third (32.62%) have sold some of their Bitcoins since they started investing. It is tempting to book profits, given how the price of Bitcoin has rallied in the last year. Most of the respondents plan to hold their Bitcoins at least one year, with only 16.49% planning to sell sooner than that. According to the survey, 21% of Bitcoin investors plan to hold on to their coins for at least seven years, and 11.7% say they will hold the currency for 10 years or longer. Store of value or speculative investment? While pundits debate whether people are investing in Bitcoin because they treat it as a store of value or as a speculative investment, the survey results indicate something completely different. According to LendEdu: The most Continue reading >>

Should Bitcoin Be A Part Of My Investment Plan?
Should Bitcoin Be a Part of My Investment Plan? posted on December 20th 2017 in Fort Worth CFP Team Posts with 0 Comments / Question: Ive seen Bitcoin in the news a lot lately because it has gone up in value. Is this something we should consider as part of my investment plan? As you might have guessed, the answer isnt a simple yes or no. If thats what you wanted, you shouldnt be even considering throwing money at it, for any intelligent discussion will be highly nuanced. Anyone who suggests otherwise is a liar or a fool. If you arent willing to explore the nuances, there is no answer for you. Today, Im going to explore some common questions and debunk some myths and misunderstandings about Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a digital payment system known as a cryptocurrency that was released in 2009. Unlike most currencies such as the U.S. dollar that are centralized, Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer network powered by users without any middlemen or even a central authority. For those who want to understand all the details, there are plenty of resources on the Internet, so Im going to focus on key points that are related to the question Ill be tackling. Bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency, but it is the most well-known. While I will be focusing on Bitcoin,, most of what Ill be saying rings even more true of alternatives. Further, its important to distinguish the technology behind Bitcoin (blockchain) from Bitcoin itself . All Bitcoin uses blockchain, but not all blockchain is Bitcoin. Ill be focusing my discussion on Bitcoin, so be careful not to assume that what I say about Bitcoin is also true of blockchain technology. Bitcoin is not an investment. It is a speculation that Bitcoin may one day become 1) a reliable medium of exchange, 2) a reliable store of value, and 3) widely used. Mor Continue reading >>
Should You Buy Bitcoin? Ask A Different Question First
Your Money |Should You Buy Bitcoin? Ask a Different Question First I received these two messages within three minutes of each other recently: Several years back I used to mine Bitcoin, and then I sold most of them off for a down payment for our house. I had 400 BTC at one point, which would be worth $6.8 million today. Needless to say, I am really depressed now. I only kept one Bitcoin. I should have kept more. My husband has invested in Bitcoin, and my son has invested in Etherium! I am debating about switching my 401(k) to Bitcoin. Everyone, including my mother, is wondering if they should buy Bitcoin or some other cryptocurrency . And since everyone is asking, there are plenty of semi-informed people providing answers. But if you try to find a solid answer to this question, you will probably just end up more confused. Answering the question means guessing where the price of Bitcoin is headed, and nobody who is being honest actually knows. So may I humbly suggest that asking if we should all buy Bitcoin is the wrong question, and that we should ask a different one instead. The question we should be asking ourselves is this: Does buying Bitcoin fit into my investment plan? In order to answer the investing plan question, it might help to clarify a few things. Investing is different from speculating or gambling. Investing is a means to an end, and that end is our collective financial goals. Beating the stock market, buying whats hot, outperforming a brother-in-law those are not financial goals. Financial goals are things like having money to send kids to college, buying a house, taking a trip or retiring someday. This is why we invest. If we start by declaring that certain important goals are the reasons we are investing, then we can move on to figuring out the investme Continue reading >>

Bit Club Invest Review - Legit Bitcoin Investing Plans That Help Earn Btc?
Bit Club Invest is a high yield investment program (HYIP) scam. Find out how it works today in our review. Bit Club Invest is an investment opportunity that promises to pay you absurd ROIs on your investment. The guaranteed returns are so absurd that we have to immediately label Bit Club Invest as a HYIP scam returns like this arent even close to possible in the traditional investment community. Bit Club Invest promises to pay you 10% returns per hour, every hour. They also have plans where they pay you 350% every 5 days. Whatever package you choose, you can invest just a small amount today and youll be a millionaire by the end of the year. Obviously, when someone promises to pay you returns like this, its a 100% sign youre participating in a HYIP scam or some type of Ponzi scheme . Bit Club Invest seems to work like any other Ponzi scheme: you pay a fee to join the company, then collect absurd ROIs every day in your account. The returns of older investors are paid by the deposits of new investors. Eventually, the scheme collapses when enough new members cannot be recruited. Bit Club Invest, like all good pyramid schemes, also has a multilevel referral system in place, where you get paid to refer other people to the scam. The more people you refer, the more money you can make. Ponzi schemes typically have a system like this to ensure new members are constantly being added to the platform. In any case, all you need to do is give the company a bunch of money today, and theyll magically turn it into more money. Many HYIP scams we see online today dont claim to have any products or services. Bit Club Invest, however, at least pretends to be a legitimate business. The company claims to operate as a venture capital firm, investing in companies that generate high rates of ret Continue reading >>
Planning To Invest In Bitcoin? Here's Why You Need To Be Careful
Jyoti Gupta, 30, is a homemaker. She used to work as a real estate agent until slowdown hit the industry. While she was struggling to make ends meet, Bitcoins caught her fancy. Given the digital currency's speculative nature, she earned good returns in a short period. "I have made good money over the past one year. I will continue to invest in Bitcoin," she says. Many people in India have started buying and selling crypto currencies, a digital currency where encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units and verify transfer of funds. These operate independently of a central bank. India has over one million Bitcoin users; the country accounts for almost 10 per cent trading in volume terms. According to a recent report by PHDCCI, combined trading volumes in India could be in the range of Rs 200-250 crore per month. Trading in crypto, or virtual, currencies has surged due to extraordinary returns. For example, Bitcoin, the oldest and the most popular virtual currency, has given 30 times returns over the past four years. The value of the currency surged from $100 in June 2013 to $3,025 in June 2017. Similarly, Ripple, a crypto currency based on inter-bank settlements, has given 200 per cent returns over the past three months ended July 31. The other reason for such an increase in volumes is the low returns given by other asset classes such as real estate, fixed deposits and gold. While awareness about Bitcoin and altcoins (virtual currencies other than Bitcoin) has been rising, for investors, there are several concerns that they should be aware about. For example, Bitcoins are not backed by any tangible asset but sheer demand. Unlike other investments, there is no underlying asset; its value is measured by just demand and supply. Moreover, there is a lo Continue reading >>

Disciples of the cryptocurrency plan to hold on for dear life but traditional finance is getting twitchy Last modified on Monday 11 December 2017 05.29EST Bitcoin is the fastest-growing asset in the world this year, but the virtual currency does not appear to have many users in Londons tech district. It has been more than a month since bitcoin was used to buy a flat white or craft beer sold at the Old Shoreditch Station, according to the hospitality manager at the east London bar. What is bitcoin and is it a bad investment? Bitcoin is the first, and the biggest, "cryptocurrency" a decentralised tradable digital asset. Whether it's a bad investment is the big question . Bitcoin can only be used as a medium of exchange and in practice has been far more important for the dark economy than it has for most legitimate uses. The lack of any central authority makes bitcoin remarkably resilient to censorship, corruption or regulation. That means it has attracted a range of backers, from libertarian monetarists who enjoy the idea of a currency with no inflation and no central bank, to drug dealers who like the fact that it's hard (but not impossible) to trace a bitcoin transaction back to a physical person. Louis Chauvin admits he cannot find the iPad that is used by staff for processing bitcoin payments, as he resumes serving customers queueing to pay with their contactless bank cards. Although the establishment sits in the capitals buzzing tech hub, and is advertised online as one Continue reading >>

Goenka says bitcoin is just like any other investmentoption, whereyou need to give ittime and put effortbefore you actually start making profits. Unfortunately, many people think it is a quick rich scheme, which is a myth. For Goenka, you dont need to be an engineer but at least one should try to understand the nuances of the cryptocurrency and the technology behind it, which is blockchain. "Spend time and build their knowledge about it as people dont do that, are likely to make a terrible investment decision, whereas people who understand the fundamentals of the technology and believe in its long-term potential are likely to book good profits," he shared. Since blockchain is a new technology, Goenka warns investors that there is risk involved which even some of the best experts cannot predict. One should be precautious while investing and hence starting out with a small amount is advisable. As per existing laws in India, Bitcoin is not illegal. However, neither Reserve Bank of India and the Government of India has come out to its support and said the cryptocurrency is legal. And even though bitcoin is an interesting and innovative concept, investors should not forget the grey area it currently operates in. Lastly, Goenka advices investors to start from small amount, just like a systematic investment plan (SIP). And as your knowledge about the technology starts increasing, you can increase your exposure and ineve Continue reading >>
